Nice one ED :y

There you have it Osman, go back, s**k it up, and have your guild learn who is best to cast on or not if you aint willin to catch the crap.

Though I have to ask you ED lol, are you calling SIN out as a poor guild as well? We leave all manner of voodoo active for the full duration.... ALL THE TIME! :D

I think there are two separate situations that we can talk about.
1) There is the traditional practice of pirates clearing the voodoo that they cast, on those players that they've attacked, once the raid is over. I do understand, Charles, that the pirates in SIN no longer adhere to this tradition. That is not what I was referring to.
2) There is the defensive act of those in a Guild clearing malicious voodoo cast on their Guild-mates. This protection is offered in an effort to limit the losses incurred by the Guild-mate, as a result of the voodoo cast on them. That is what I was referring to.

Frankly, Both in my guild and personally, I do not typically remove voodoo if my guildmate started it. So in this case, since you were not the aggressor I would have let the voodoo you cast stay on. I would however make sure that my guildmates gold stayed up and they didn't lose any ships, but that's as far as I would go. To me, I feel that if I remove the voodoo then that encourages my guildmates to keep starting trouble. "Why should I care if I get cast on if old Mel will remove it as soon as possible?" Better to let them learn a lesson in my opinion.

Now I Don't know if the guild in question didn't remove the voodoo because they share my view and thought it would be a good lesson to learn for the person in question, or if they simply didn't care, or if they were just not paying attention. But I can see why they wouldn't remove it.

Aye, I knew what ye meant mate and I meant the same. Voodoo cast on my own guild mates never gets cleared ;). Never worth the cost of defensive voodoo to do so.. let the storm rage we say!

Edwardteach wrote:Ahoy all,
Just seeing this thread now, so I reckon I ought to weigh in on the subject. Actually, just three points that I would like to make:
1) Personally, I do not take kindly to those who cast Pirate Tales. I feel that it is a very cowardly and cheap way to get Fame. It is an act completely devoid of honor. If it were up to me that card would be stricken from the deck. I spent long years accumulating the fame that I have. I got it the old fashioned way, I earned it. It does indeed chap my hide when some wet behind the ears swab can, with one click, obliterate weeks worth of plundering and running fleets with high danger.
2) It is the duty of any "Guild", worth its salt, to educate its players about the use of voodoo, and the possible outcomes and consequences of casting on certain players, and folks in general. There's almost always gonna be blow back from using voodoo on someone because the act itself makes an attack so very personal.
3) It would also be the purview of of said "Guild" to protect its players from any voodoo cast on them. I was frankly amazed to see that Osman, and his crew, left the voodoo I cast on Thunder Bones active for a full 24 hours (without clearing it). What kind of a "Guild" does that?
Just saying. Thanks for letting me share.

Hmmmmm. How is Pirate Tales any different than conspiracy or black death. Actually, you have nothing to ***** bout with pirate tales. You have a defense against the card. There is no defense against conspiracy or black death.
