Personally, as long as the war-end meets my objective, I dont give two hoots about some scoreboard saying otherwise. Much like fame, if it matters, go for it, if it dont, ignore it and just play anyway.

This sums up my view. Most wars have objectives with no regard to cost - even in chess, the object is to capture the king. The one with the most pieces on the board isn't the winner; it be the player that reached the objective.

Indeed but it may be that some find it useful. It may be
considered as a test of skills against a worthy opponent or
to solve a squabble instead of inciting a full war.

wich may provide a better gauge than a points system.
Points may be handed out afterwards as merit points.

May the game credits themselves be the gauge to
deem if a player is gaining or loosing? By now,
the developers may have a firm grasp about the
average credits a given card cost. Turns spent/lost
may be easily calculated.

Vessels lost/damaged/plundered should be
fairly easy to assess as well.

I would love to see the sats on that war :)))

In the misunderstandings between the HELM and VUDU I may have a bit on the loosing edge.
Ship's got locked up due to a bug and had to keep a heavy gold hand at the time.

No ships were lost though but at the same time Helm casted a few times. I can't see
any other way to judge who were on the receiving end without sorting to use credit
costs as a gauge.

i like the whole idea.
it has nothing to do with real war or the reasons for that. but it could be fun to have a contest with a fat juicy carrot in it.

i would suggest that third parties could set a 'war' up. donating GC or credits to the winner of the contest.
it could be set up like the bounty system where you can set the conditions (time frame guild/single player, small group, prize, and goal) . other players (or yourself) can subscribe to the war by filling a slot in the offer.

gc or ships lost to third parties during a war should be counted, as often that will be the result of a voodoo attack related to the war.

Mm +1 Approved :duel :cannon :duel :arr

There could even be competitions, tournament-style. Course you can still have wars the old fashioned way, but this method would be a great option for guilds/players to have.

Yeah I can approve of this. May need some refinement, but I liked it when it was first posted.
