When I simply added 14M influence there, I just wanted to boost my influence a bit, across Avonmora. There was no second thought, I did it right away. I even added an extra 14M at Vaasburg by mistake. Then, I also asked SHM to do the same, he is a King, he needs to diversify his influence. So with this move, we had 2 objectives fulfilled:
1)We signaled that TK will defend Kiribati.
2)We did this at no real overhead, as this influence had its uses for us for TK defense.
But this was before we learn that there was a deal between IoM and Astragek. Hearing the details of the deal, we were shocked. When we realized that Kiribati disbands and the whole story behind it, I personally was enraged.
Should TK have not interfered at all, IoM would had an extra port at no cost. A present from Astragek in the expense of a nation larger than IoM. This is not what we all silently accepted for when Baramas was given to Grenada. This is not what we all silently accepted when Baramas was inherited by Kiribati.
So at that case, I guess Feniks, you would be fine, right? If IoM had the port now and nothing has ever happened, you would not post here questioning them, or would you?
I had my conversations with Will, I had my conversations with Astra and I tried to have a conversation with El Draque( he did not answer my inquiry). I know about the merger and plans long in advance. and I signed off on it as did Vane who also had interests in Kiribati, Will covered all the bases beforehand and did it diplomatically. He kept me in the loop from the start.
Hell, I even confronted him once about concerns on a matter and he addresses them immediately.
So to answer your question.... if IoM controlled the port I would have no reason to comment because of the consideration William One Eye showed in advance. A lot is said in forums about things like respect, diplomacy and consideration. Like all things in Avonmora, everyone has different opinions on the subject, but in this case and as far as I and UK are concerned, Will acted honorably and took the history of the port into consideration.
I am usually not one to complain about port action. I have been on both ends of that situation. UK has been hostile and diplomatic about ports. We have taken them and we have gifted them. In this case though, Will went above and beyond what I would have done.
So be it war, or be it peace be on TK's plate right now I guess. I just know respect has been lost. But at the end of the day you can't fill your coffers with respect.
You only need to hold that port for another plus days at max population to break even now.
