The other ships continue on following them. From jack's ships, a single universal sea shanty is sung, one that somehow works for all types of work. It tells about riches and fighting, it carries with the wind and can be heard by much of the fleet. Jack stands on the fox'l barking orders to men working there.

Carl just sails along quietly, thinking about something. Eden is standing in the crows nest looking out in the horizon, humming a tune to herself while she sharpens her sword. Occasionally she shouts an order or 2 when needed, and after a while they near the pass she shouts.

Alright, we made it. Now I want one ship to go to both sides of the pass and set up some artillery and dig some trenches there. That way if any of there ships are near either coast we got some artillery to bomb them. Then I want most of our ships to go and hide nearby. Then we can have a small patrol keep watch for them flying the Tokelau flag to avoid suspicion. They will lure the ships to our hidden fleet, where we will blast them. Just remember, don't fire upon any galleys. We won't want to kill the slaves. And try to capture a few of the sotl for profit. I also suggest we have a few ships prepared to board the galleys with extra weapons, to free the slaves and start an uprising in the galleys. Get to moving people. Keep an eye out also for any other profitable targets that pass by. Just don't hit any from Tokelau-they agreed to let us use this pass for our ambush, in exchange for not sacking them or raiding their ships.

Your going to have to use signals to communicate. Yelling won't work

Her shouting is to the men on her ship and to any ships nearby, and for them to deliver the message to the rest of the fleet. Also it's rather hypocritical for you to say that your song can be heard by most of the fleet but her shouting can't. Unless your singing at the top of your lungs, it shouldn't spread that far wind or not.

by your song, I mean the fact that YOU stated that a song was being sung. And a hundred men or not, them singing together won't magically make that song heard by nearly an entire fleet of 300 plus ships. Do you have any idea how hard it is to sing as loud as you can without shredding your voice? These men are pirates-not actors or performers who have proper training and experience singing, they wouldn't be able to sing a song all that loud without losing their voice doing so. And again, even if they were singing at the top of their lungs, the wind wouldn't carry it to over 300 ships or anywhere close to it. It's far easier to shout loudly then to sing, and shouting will be louder then loud singing, so its still bloody hypocritical for you to tell me she can't shout an order and needs to signal when you have a musical number carry perfectly fine.

A few hundred singing at normal volume would carry considerably further than just a single man. Ships nearby would hear it; however, it would not carry across the entire fleet.

I said much of the fleet not all. And it's several hundred across 50 ships not just one hundred men. But let's get on with it

Artillery is set up on both sides with great haste and care. A patrol of frigates is created, and the other ships with Jack's squadron near the front go and hide. Jack claps his hands together

This'll be fun.

Jack what are the chances that 50 ships all decide to sing the same song together just out of the blue? These are meant to be pirates, not the bloody kids from high school musical-one doesn't just start singing a song and all of a sudden everyone else joins in perfectly in sync. Hell from the sound of it, and given how often you and your men sing, im starting to think Jack regularly puts his men through song and dance numbers. Wouldn't surprise me if he greets all his new recruits with this song here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrj8EZm9ca8 But yeah let's get on with it

Eden nods in satisfaction that the ambush is set up. She takes a quick drink from her flask and shouts to her men.

Signal everyone to tell them to have a lunch. We got a solid day before they first start showing up, and even if they come out of the blue our patrols should spot them long before they are in range. Also make sure to rotate the patrols every 8 hours so the men out there won't be exhausted when they show up.

:D ok, that's actually really clever of you. Maybe this is just a thing that he's taught his crew to do, like a tradition of some kind

Some salt beef and grog is given out, jack eats it in his cabin and patrols are switched when necessary.
