Then it would be stuck on 99% for years :D

Well if CJs explanation is correct that upgrades will never be complete.... that would make sense...lol

i still find my workers health to drop to zero soon after happiness drops to zero. drop of 40+ health within hour is bit drastic i think. i wonder, is this something that is supposed to be happening? i guess it was mentioned as known issue in slack, perhaps couple days ago

Can anyone confirm that stars decay?

stars can disappear

I think stars are representative of the buildings improvement, staffing, and assigned acres vs the total demand for the building by the number of field workers present.

So if you improve a building and it has improved the quality of life for those using it, you get stars.
however if you then increase your population then you could lose those stars if you exceed the buildings capacity.
I view this different than a degradation.

I don't know if it is certain that buildings degrade from usage. If this is true than as buildings degrade, then stars would also degrade.

The disappearing stars are due to more workers being added to the plantation. If stars do decay, that would be crazy.

I have experienced the same issue -

I have seen conditions change from 30% to 0% over a few hours.
Since I am rapidly transporting large numbers of workers, I think it may be due to how fast I populated my plantations.

In theory this is how I see it.

At first people coming into the plantation at a fast rate is good.
However once you pass the optimal number of workers per acre per amount of development that changes quickly.
If you pass optimal things start to go down hill. Perhaps you notice this but you still have inbound fleets with immigrants.
Now if 50 fleets arrive and drop of immigrants, you are now way past optimal.
Things get worse. Now you stop your fleets and no more healthy workers are arriving to keep health and happiness levels up and
suddenly all you have are tired unhealthy workers and your levels immediately drop to Zero.

Any thoughts on number of workers vs. total acres? I currently have 500,000 workers on 1100 acres. Not getting anywhere on improvements. Logic suggests that is too many. Before I kill them off, I'm wondering how many is optimum per acre.

Functions that lead me to believe buildings and stars could decay.

Guards, Happiness, utility and population

three things that could be considered in the degradation of buildings

Amount of usage they are receiving
worker revolt that could lead to attacks on buildings
guards that would protect those buildings from misuse or damage in the event of revolt.
utilities build and maintain buildings, so if you stop supply of tools it is logical buildings could fall into disrepair
if some of your buildings are to large for the capacity of utilities is is also logical buildings could fall into disrepair

My stars on utility just increased from 1 star to 1 and half stars, and the improve time suddenly dropped by like, 5 hours. Which means it became faster.

I left one of the buildings to improve for 1 tick at like, 60k workers I belief, so it would stop being inexistent, it has been a few days, almost 1 week I haven't improved it, didn't became inexistent again (Only shows if the building has at least 1 worker.) .

I did this to see if it does decay, but so far, it shows, no. It doesn't decay.
