Brian thinks
Well depends really. If we knew we were going into a fight ahead of time, we would carry extra, and sometimes put on heavier then usual cannons, but since we normally tried to be peaceful, we normally only carried 4. But we rarely actually fought with our cannons, we normally tried to trick our attackers into boarding us, as both me and Ellen were very good melee fighters, then our hidden crew mates would jump out and ambush them. Sometimes we would surrender immediately, only to lure them into an ambush on our ship. If our enemy however wanted to fight cannon vs cannon, we would normally run, as a cutter isn't the best choice for a ship battle, but as fast as they are, larger ships can rarely catch us. As I said before-me and Ellen were not fools-we knew if a battle was clearly too large for us to win, and neither of us were too proud to run away.
