I wanted to add on the Rental Payment system, which is unique to PG. Let me use an example:
1)Shadowood gets 100 acres for 10gc.
2)A total fee of 30k (100 acres * 10gc * 30 days) will now be displayed as his Remaining Rent.
3)This rent, will be then paid in installments of minimum 10k based on this formula, hourly:
Hourly Rent = Remaining Rent /720
720 because it is 30 days and every day has 24 hours.
So, Shadowood hourly rent will be:
Hourly Rent = 30 000 / 720 = 41.66gc
This means that no rent will be ever paid as it is less than 10k.
For these cases (really small amounts), there will be a daily fee instead, which will have no minimum:
Daily Clearance Fee = Remaining Rent/30
However, this will kick in only if no hourly rent has been paid since last day (and there is remaining rent to pay).
Minimum daily fee is 10k too.
Plantation owners will also be given the option to pay the fee directly! Meaning that you will be able to pay your remaining fee anytime, even for the whole amount if you wish. This means that you will have one headache less in managing your plantations. However, I am not sure we should give you this
perk without getting anything back. Perhaps an extra 3% corruption fee for the game.
Now, all the above might sound funny and excessive to you. This is perhaps because you have not thought that there will be no rent per plantation schedule. All plantations rent you may owe, will be paid through your hand. Surely, each plantation income will go to different national coffers so for us, there is a difference in code. But for you? There is none as there is 1 hand.
Also, rent is not like Goldsmith where you need to melt the gc to produce. If you don't pay the rent, plantation should keep up. Since it takes from your hand automatically, players will take care of it to avoid dropping to 0 gc. If you drop to 0 gc after all, production will eventually halt as there will be gold upkeeps paid from your hand for the plantation operation.
