John had been one of the first ships to leave Caspians harbor. Before boarding his sloop an old local fisherman called out to him from his small boat
"Best be planning accordingly sir! There be a storm brewing on the central sea up to the caspian straight!"
If John learned anything from his travels, it was to trust the local fisherman who were long in the teeth. The Pelican was a remarkably fast ship, especially when the weather and wind were favorable. He chose to take the eastern coastline past Gasp and then westward to Tzogos using the southern channel.
