The estate is more of a trophy room. A showoff. But it should be entertaining too.
I remember a discussion about crew as well. I searched for it with no luck. I am not sure it will be the same. What possibly is different is the idea to have them perform actions, even during battle. So instead of having an extra modifier, like ship abilities could do later on ship specialization, we get special actions.
Actions like casting voodoo from the witch doctor. For example, you will be able to set the minimum limit for bless and drums of war cards. Witch Doctors should be mounted only on fleet flagship, alongside with the admiral. If you have more cards than the set limit, the witch doctor will be able to cast these cards on your fleet right before battle to help it win. The better the witch doctor, the better judgment he will use (ie bless might be unfitting but call leviathan might be better) and the more cards as well.
Here is an example:
- Code: Select all
Shadowood's Blossom of Swords (fleet, consisted by a SoL, 3 Frigates and 1 Cutter) attacks Sir Henry Morgan No Mercy (Fleet, consited of 3 Man o' War and 2 Large Frigates)
Sir Francis (SHM admiral) immediately orders a change of formation to surround the enemy ships!
Vin Gol (SHM witch doctor) casts Bless!
Vin Gol casts Drums of War!
Vin Gol casts Call Leviathan on enemy Warship SoL!
Vin Gol calls for a Ship of fire upon enemy fleet!
Vin Gol Calls the Kraken!
PANIC STRIKES THE HEARTS of Blossom of Swords!
Brutal Joe (Shadowood admiral) gasps in awe before Vin Gol and sounds the retreat!
Vin Gol continues his casting maniacally....
..
...
....
Battle ends before even opening fire!
SHM WINS!
No plunder was possible as the enemy escaped!
This Vin Gol is quite an asset. Let's say Level 20 with Casting Level 20 -> Up to 20 casts per battle. Not something you would encounter any day of course.
The example above could mean that we will add more battle elements as well. Voodoo too perhaps.
Something along these lines.
