Individual Fleet Treasuries

We are always looking for ways to improve the game. In fact, since the beginning player suggestions had played a major part in game design.

We read all suggestions.

Thinking on this further, I now fail to see the need to retain generosity or other similar cards : if they become fleet specific, they would be less than useless anyway as a means of assistance. Currently, a guild-mate can monitor a purse, note it drop to danger levels, a few clicks and genny is sent. Under this proposal, it will be a major difficulty just figuring out IF a fleet is at risk of loss, nevermind WHICH fleet is under risk of loss, then finding its number, then sending the assistance. So, scrapping these assistance cards seems only sensible.

Going to point out an item:

This definitely benefits plunderers/raiders.

With this setup, players are going to have more GC in play. As each fleet will needs its own funds.

With each fleet plunder, the plunder-er is likely hitting the fleet with a "full" treasury amount, where in the current setup, each fleet hit is taking from a singular treasury so the plunder amounts decrease. It makes defleeting harder, but provides raiders with a significantly greater amount of GC to plunder.

I was thinking about this a little bit too. What if a player could set an “allocation” for Geno’s Almost like one sets up att points distribution for ship upgrades.

I don't see the concern, you lose less even.

Yes each fleet has its own purse, but the amounts plundered vary on the purse size and still last ship.

Fleet A: valued at 50m, max purse 5m (under current values)
If hit you lose 250k, same as 5m on hand now except now it's near that much for every fleet hit - a bit each time.

Fleet B: valued at 1m, max purse 100k
If hit you lose 10k max plus 10% of tail.

As it is now, if you have 10m on hand and 15 fleets that get lit up, your looking at 250k per hit or 3.75m total lost in just those hits.

With the new system, if your running 2 x Fleet A from the example above and 13 x fleet B's, (simulating war fleets and merchant fleets. Your looking at losses from one round as follows:

Fleet A x 2 = 250k each = 500k
Fleet B x 13 = 11k each (assuming howker tails) = 143k

Total lost in those 15 hits = 643k

You lose less, but need to remember to upkeep fleet purses and war fleets are still susceptible to a good raid if and when the proper voodoo are utilized.

I agree, the need for the cards would be seemingly pointless with this addition. However, if we combined it with SHM's idea on "loading" voodoo into a fleet, Generosity cards could be well served here. Be able to load a geno card to any worthy fleet, once its purse drops below 10% or so of its total max purse size the geno auto casts assuming appropriate turns are on hand. Could still be worth keeping them around in this case.

That would be interesting and a very upsetting surprise for a pirate. I would be against this addition as Genos are meant to be cast from someone else not on yourself.

Really liking this idea but -1 to loading Genos for yourself.

This could work, we need a a method for guild members to monitor though otherwise cast would never come from friends as they would never know (short of being lucky and catching a glimpse on any of the 21 plunder boards.

What if a player could designate his "Main Fleet" this fleets treasury would alternatively be visible on the guild member page just as treasuries are now.

Yeah it is an interesting problem. Perhaps the “Main Fleet” could work but those who carry multiple “Main Fleets” would be at a disadvantage. I only say this because i see this idea really aiding in helping to get a lot more big ships on the water.

I don’t currently have a work around but will think on it more

The whole concept aids that aim to begin with though. Those who fleet several "Cap Fleets" now have multiple treasuries to cover them.

A player sailing 5 x fleets as follows:

3 x Sotl
2 x Cutter

Valued at about 52m, purse size each is 5.2m. If hit with FoJ and each fleet takes a hit, they are all left with purses at 4,950,000.

Under the current mechanics, if all 5 are hit, and the player had 5m on hand they are now down to 3.75m.

You still lose the same value in coin, but the fleets are better protected. If someone wants to take one fleet from a player, they need to focus their fire on that fleet. This also makes logical sense. If I have a fleet in Regis and it is getting pummeled/targeted for plunder, why would my fleet in Tortuga be vulnerable for that?

That protection alone is enough to motivate bigger ships sailing in larger numbers.

There may be a way a Generosity might work - whenever on one's guildmates' fleets drops below 20% of the ship treasury's capacity, instead of showing their treasury, it highlights their treasury in the guild. A generosity is then cast which fills all the target's fleet treasuries that are below 20% up to 500K. If two fleets are below 20%, 250K goes into each. If 500K is too much, the rest would go into their treasury.

Something along those lines, perhaps.

As for loading voodoo into a ship or fleet slot, Hidden Treasure would also confound an attacker.
