For the most part, that is true. However, you show someone respect until they in turn show you disrespect. Disrespecting someone from the outset and using the statement "respect is earned" is a load of shit. No one would respect anyone, because they haven't "earned" the respect yet, and because one was disrespectful to them they aren't likely to be respectful in return.

LOL! Yeap and we wouldn't have to worry about anyone getting reimbursement, because the Treasury would be empty.

Ok. I guess deporting inactives, the basis of the disagreement, is now self-serving.

Getting way off topic, and that's besides the point, we settled our differences and Mack is always welcome back to the USA, and the USA has extended an offering of support to Mack if he needs it.

To Taylor/All:

Although, I would like someone to please find me a nation that does not serve it's self interests. A nation is a collective of people who work together to serve a common interest. The council is the main point of where direction and interest is determined as in most cases the council holds the largest voting block. The council isn't a group of elected officials and anyone can be on the council. If someone does not like the way the council is being run, they have the option to either leave the nation to build or find another nation, or complete nation missions, obtain enough influence to join the council, and push to make the changes from within the council. Bitching and moaning about how the nation should be run when you haven't completed nations missions is not how nations work. I would really enjoy seeing you complain about a decision a council made without your opinion in another nation, when you haven't reached the council. I'm sure they would they would just bend over backwards to accommodate your every little complaint.

But seriously : the way nations are set up and how the voting power table works does mean maintaining a coherent and equitable democracy is a non-starter : in the end, like it or lump it, the mostest votes decides, whatever your rank or opinion, however fair or unfair the outcome may be. It dont do much to complain or argue from a position of weakness outside the council for, as Deznutz says, that's where the power to decide lies. In that is the grounds for much dis-satisfaction and conflict but its hard to see how the running of nations in the game can be any other way.

+1

One only needs to look at the laws of a nation to see whose interest the nation serves. As far as the voting block goes.... well I have had issue with that from day 1. Personally, I defer to all citizens and with hold my vote on changes until everyone has a chance to voice their own opinion. If you take the time to explain and argue for your proposed changes, and make your case, there is usually no need for council to even vote. This is where USA failed here, but i give credit to Dez for admitting their failure in this matter.

Every nation has the right to be run how it's citizens deem is in their own best interest. Tokelau laws are favorable to bankers and their stipend law serves the newest citizens in the nation. Bermudas laws are set up, at least from an outsiders perspective, to build reserves and protect the ports they have. Montenegro's laws are set to build reserves to help defend newly acquired port. Spain current Stipend laws are set to help all those not on the council, but the least among them. USA laws..... well..... I guess that is for their citizens to determine.

The US provides an additional payout for every time a player ranks up (Promotional Payout) upto Marquess. Don't know if any other nations does that.

Yes, most nations do that. Montenegro, i do it out of my pocket for each class promotion, not out of then national treasury. I did the same in Australia, and we did the same in Grenada, although the structure was slightly different. But the payouts came from the council members, not the national treasury.

Again. USA policies are theirs and theirs to decide upon.

We took all the tequila when we left : unless you found those bottles in the stables : ahem... not tequila at all, just well used surgical alcohol for when the poor creatures were chafed or had bowel issues....

I do not intend to be childishly manipulated into staying for the idiocy of a tyrunt! Belittle all you want! Keep the 35m.
And if Admiral Nelson Pays you a dime he is just as crazy.
Good luck, may your ports be taken soon. Could not happen to a better guy.
To those few casting influence draining voodoo on my behalf I have asked you to stop and I sincerely mean it.
However if you are going to continue casting, I know I am not as knowledgeable but shouldn't you
wait until they build more influence first to maximize your damage. Just saying.
Peace to the Middle east and all that jazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
