(Legendary) Turncoat

Do you have an idea for a card ? Do you want a tweak on existing voodoo cards? Perhaps you even want one of them removed? This is where you can post your suggestion.

That is the definition of milking which is against the rules. If a card could be used for milking and thus should not exist, there are a few existing cards that need to go away. You can farm smaller players with the commandeer card, should we get rid of it.

I disagree. This would only be milking if the large player paid the bonus to the newbie, not otherwise. Maybe not even then as paying for voodoo casting is not explisitely forbidden. Ordinary use of this card against relatively new players would anyway be legal use of the card. As using commandeer on new players is. Nothing illegal in that. Trying to profit from it will be hard, though. Most new players won't have ships out of fleets. To profit from using commandeer against a new player, that player would have to actively cooperate. In which case it WOULD be milking. If I see a new player with a SoL out of fleet, too bad for him. I have no qualms about commandeering it.

How can you disagree. That is milking. I added emphasis to the original statement.

It is legal for small players to sell bribes to large players. Or sell any other voodoo cast on them. I agree that this is different, but I don't think it's explicitely forbidden. Paying to be allowed to cast on someone? This might be covered by "no arranged battles", but there's really no battle going on, just voodoo. And paying for voodoo is usually OK. This might be considered NOT ok, I agree with that, but I would like to see a specific statement on it if the card ever became a reality. Which I doubt. So the point is not really interesting. I guess we should both find better things to discuss :-)

Also, if the player just cast, and doesn't pay, it's obviously NOT milking. And doing so would be easy as pie. What does most small players care if they lose an officer anyway? It's not like they are going to retaliate against one of the giants.

Since this is just a bribe + assassin I don't think it will ever get used since there will be so many other amazing cards to craft instead of this one.

If this card is less expensive than a bribe then we would need to have the conversation with new players about milking. I would rather just not provide a tool that could easily be used in milking/farming guildmates.

I propose this suggestion be moved to disapproved because it is simply an assassin + bribe and opens up too many questions about illegal actions (milking).
