This is pointless. So I could join France hit you 2 times ea day right after update and my hostility would be gone before next update. And voodoo can be casted all day without any hostility or fines. And if you try to fine ppl they will just hirer someone from another nation or just put a bounty on you. Or just hit you 8 times and go pirate with no taxes.

Also, just because you can avoid the law does not mean the law is pointless and deserves a -1. You mentioned how this could be done with voodoo. Great, perfect, that is the purpose of voodoo - to bend the game systems. Each nation can choose whether it is best for them. This law is a set game system that gives nations a means to deter nation to nation attack. You also mention just attack 8 times and become a pirate. Great, you're no longer a member of the nation so either way my nation was successful in stopping internal national conflict. What this law does is very simple, it deters people from taking the benefits of a nation for a long period of time, while at the same time attacking members of said nation. Again, the other ways you mentioned like, "And if you try to fine ppl they will just hirer someone from another nation or just put a bounty on you" already happen in the game as a way to not become a pirate. That's already a door. This law simply closes one of the doors. The law is very focused at one specific issue.

And before this is mentioned again, like we said earlier, paying the piracy fine does NOT REDUCE HOSTILITY. Reducing hostility can only be done by voodoo.

I agree with Roileon. Ziggs comments are for a very specific set of players. Not everyone in this game has the means to reduce their hostility on a regular basis (or in general) just to attack players in their own nation, or are purposely exploiting hostility with their own nation. This mechanism allows a nation, if they choose to implement it, to benefit from players who are trying to manipulate hostility to the max without becoming a pirate, and those that are just being careless.

its good idea to have. Honestly current 75 hostility system not enough to prevent same nation kills. at least with a law like that before attacking your own nation's player you should think twice for pros and cons. +1

I think one has to bear in mind that most own nation hostility (indeed, most hostility in general) arises from NPC hits whilst farming : I dont think it is that good an idea to limit or discourage NPC farming overall : this could act in that way. then again, if the NPC prize is enough, it would cover any fines : but not for the new smaller player who gets less bang per buck spent on NPC farming .. so.. worth thinking on.

For those who see it as a way to combat nation take-overs.. well. it wont : Events like Mexico, USA and Midway are very specific cases, and dealing with hostility gain is part of the planning and forms how and which tactics are used : 'blue-on-blue' hostility played a minor part in all three cases, until the last knockings when it happened as folk bailed out, though there were a handful of 'accidental' flag losses when folk got their sums wrong and took a hit too many. In the case of the WWA and Midway, there was minimal hits carried out anyway.

I dont object to this law proposal : but I do think nations should consider 'honest' NPC-based hostility gain in fixing the level of fines.

im not grave digger. im trying to read every possible suggestion topics. so something familiar in my mind im voting for them. I guess its better than making new post over and over.

On the other hand i had problem with own nationality attacks. Not because im getting attacked simultaneously. It just doesnt seems right. Attacking your own citizens is just a piracy act. So if you are after piracy why should you stay under a nation flag? You should pay for that. If it doesnt fit you than go and become pirate.

When i first realized being in the same nation doesnt mean anything in game(attacked 7 times in a row by my nation's citizen) i surprized. Because didnt expect such a thing like that. But in current state guilds are what you should concern and care about. So making the borderline of being a pirate or citizen of nation color a bit dark fit to me.

Well Danik im a new player. i did npc farms(i spent daily turns for it) but i didnt have more than 13-15 hostility as total(which will decade before upkeep) in a day which is acceptable for me. its really rare to get a npc with same flag as you carry. im fine to pay tax to my nation instead of getting attacked simultaneously from my citizens. its just not feel right at all.

It can vary, which flags show up in plunder page : I've had days in which all the nice fat purses carried own nation flags and days none showed at all : but it is something you need to watch out for : I lost my first nation flag that way, by not keeping an eye on NPC flags, so, it does happen.

Well as u said its vary. But you are experienced enough to understand newcomers npc hostility and a player's citizen farming. its easy to help and support a newcomer(via a bit gold to help his payments or even using hired diplomat for his hostility).

Nvm we cant stop the player who willing to attack to his own nation's member. He just need to use hired diplomat(with help of somebody like him) and repeat that actions again. The nationality not a strong part of this game and it wont gonna be one in near future also.

I just dont want to see an attack between own nationality but its part of game so i should live with that(its not because i cant protect myself the idea just not suit me ). Sorry for bothering you and grave digging.

PS: If we want to solve this problem i guess we can arrange something. If we dont than we cant do anything about that. I dont know its easy or right to do but Hostility gain against npc ships can be tuned a bit.

You havent bothered me : I dont like own-nation PVP hits either : but as things are, they are impossible to halt : so, you have to develop other tools to deal with them on a personal basis : dont forget, voodoo lights up their fleets for all to hit, you dont always have to do the hits yourself : you can punish a fellow-citizen who attacks you in other ways too : anti-trade voodoo like antagonize, or use cards like Swarm of Worms, taxation, Lazy Craftsmen and so on to add costs to their day. Let them know you aint happy with them and that hitting you will come with a cost in return. Now, I know new players dont always have lots of voodoo to spare, but sometimes, it can pay to spend a little now to save a lot down the road.

first sailed in Avonmora at 1557
And today 1565. day of server

To be honest for example you attacked me and i used a few voodoo(since the day i started to play there isnt a single day which im not reading anything about game. im spending my every possible time during a day to learn about game and get strong in game. But still due to my irl problems i cant spend much money to game for compete against voodoo bumper) on you to show how i dont like the attack of you. What will you do? just stop to attack or make me regret to use voodoo as a retaliate?

What can protect a newcomer in this game? im new and im not that wise or experienced enough to find a solution myself. I know you are an experienced and old player in game. Just let me know, help me, find me a solution?

In this game only thing i can trust my guildmates. Thanks to them i have nice one. Beside that i dont have anything to trust or feel safe. i cant trust anyone in game even my nation's players. Well thats the idea i hate most. But cant do anything about that.
