At 2 per space this is a much more viable option

One thing i will add to this conversation for discussion. What if the nation that receives the population pays for it to be received in law format so if iom wants to pay someone 10 gc per person moved to x port or to any port in general. (will suggest x port because if its any port someone could just farm the civilians for gold). another thing to add is if that does end up becoming a law then you could set it to apply for everyone (public) or to nation members only (private). (pretty sure this was talked about elsewhere).

Currently, at the 2 per space you are beating party trade revenue for short to medium routes, to develop small ports but their is not enough margin for selling the population

That is compared to the cost of TI at current rates

With TI at around 11 credits (2.2m GC)

If you had a port of around 500m or more it could be profitable to sell or contract out population

Contracting specifics through national diplomacy tab would be interesting.

Edited port population to profitability. I math'd wrong.

I like the idea, though it seems somewhat like slavery to me. Maybe I need to think of it more like a bus station or an airport though...

Slavery was a very lucrative trade in it's heyday. Quite normal occurences at those times but quite revolting today.

I endorse the idea of moving population around the map and that can, and is easily associated with this historical movements and sale of human labor.

Slaves.

The populations can also be viewed as immigrants and pilgrims, as they are tax payers and not property. Though lucrative in it's day, and even now treated as a commodity, I think wage earners and laborers and indigenous persons should be respected.

If the movement of humans as a commodity in game is offensive then speak up, this is not something I wish to convey as acceptable but think it has practical, period, implications.

with more commodities to transport it would be nice when we can allocate cargo space. eg. a fleet has 300 slots; 100 to migration, 200 for supplies.

Maha: Actually, I would prefer NOT to have such an option...
