I believe that a 10M reward for every 100 pvp win is a bad idea, for several reasons.
1) I think plunders should not generate gold. Only trade and production should. And yes, I think piracy tech is bad for the same reason.
2) This would mean giving piracy tech level 30 for free to everyone.
3) Just getting plunder wins is very easy. The trick is to do it and make a profit. With a reward like this, profiting from plunders become too easy.
4) Some people complain that traders have a hard time. I disagree. However, if this is implemented, traders might get my sympathy. This equals 100k extra pr plunder win. Lighting up and plundering large merchants become very profitable.
5) There are several inactive accounts around. If a guild finds an inactive with lots of fleets, lighting him up and attacking him every day becomes a great source of income.
I have no problem with the existing rewards. They help new players learn, and give them some starting capital. I built my hideout after getting the 50M reward for 500 pvp wins. This suggestion might increase the total number of plunders, but in the wrong way. Everyone hitting large traders or inactives is not what the game needs.
In my opinion, what is needed, are incentives for nations to wage war against each other. In my opinion, that would generate the right kind of action. My suggestion "external political events" was an attempt at a sketch for such incentives. Other solutions might be better, but I think it is such types of suggestions that are needed. Just getting more plunders in itself will not benefit the game. We need more action, but the right KIND of action.
