Sir Colchian, new players will never reach the level of veterans because the vets have been around for years, trying to add elements to the game that would help newbies reach their level, in my opinion is very unfair to the vets. they have spent a long time to get where they are, and have helped the game grow. the new players wont reach their level, unless they are committed and put in the time and effort to grow. also, adding features that help traders earn more profit, and make their profession more secure, does not unbalance the game. richer merchants are more profitable for pirates, this change will make merchants more comfortable running more trade routes, earning them more money, making them better more profitable to raid. the reason why some things should only be available with credits, is because if everything was available with gold coins, credits would have no reason to exist. I agree with improvement on nations however.

I see you have many points on what you are saying, but that doesn't make me have less points. Have you seen many pirates raiding? A big merchant is raided once per week when he makes like 210 M per week. I don't see the loss there. You see action is a bit different from theory. I'm not saying new comers to reach veterans, but by decreasing the risk a big trader would have is just making the game Traders Glory. The game evolve to something different from its title. Even the ships are created in order to have risk. You have to choose what ships you'll build and what trade routes you'll make and what time you send ships and tails just to minimize a risk. But loosing lvl from tails when they are raided looks fair enough according to the huge amounts of gold they produce.

Colchian: Seeing how you feel about nations, and your comment about "plot", I hope you have read my posts "wars and blockades" and "nation change barrier". Perhaps you have comments to those suggestions?

I agree that the 100% should be at 501+. I think the rate of sink chance increase to ships count increase is disproportional to the rest of the counts on the 33% and the 75%. I think changing 33% to 35% would make it a proportional gain in sink chance compared to ships. If 100% was set to 501+, the disproportional change in chance would be fixed for the 75% chance as it would run from 301 through 500.

400 is a fine number, i just hope it wont get increased more in the future. If you are not looking the direction you want to go, you end up going to the direction you re looking.

+1, I am fine with the 400 ship count as that is the "new" norm number for ships/captains with the Officer Tech introduction in the Academy. In otherwords, pre-Academy, 200 ships was easily and fairly inexpensively obtained by traders due to captain plunder rule cutoff at 200. Captains over 200 were prohibitively expensive when compared to recoup of sunk costs. What admin has done here is based 100% plunder rate on 400 captains, which is the new target captain count to hit, assuming one fully invests in Officer Tech. After 400 captain's the amount of time to return sunk costs is not a reasonable tradeoff for the trader.

I'm good with the 400 ship cutoff..

I think that CJ's numbers are good. I hope that they are implemented.

Bonus reward is now given at 500 ships. This probably be the benchmark and 501 ships at 100% sink chance should be the new 'normal' in the game.

Even 401 will be an improvement over the current 200.
