Port-dependent Tavern

Postby ChaIbaud » Thu Jun 02, 2016 4:42 am

What do I mean by a port-dependent tavern? I mean that players can go to a port and when making a post, can choose to keep it port specific. Instead of having the forum be port-specific, maybe there could be a chat room-type feature added where every player inside of that port, whether they have ships there or a warehouse is built, can talk.

I think this would just be an interesting feature to have because it adds ease of conversation between others that you might not talk to on a regular basis or at all. Perhaps the governors could control some features of it (I'd like to hear some ideas over what this could be, such as maximum # of posts in an allotted time period, etc.). :)

"Hey guys! Anyone heard from Chalbaud recently?"

"Yea, he was talking about an hour ago... Good luck finding him now."

Before anyone sings at the top of their lungs about the current chat room option... let's be honest, no one uses that and the idea of port-specific chat seems very intriguing to me.

It would be easy to know who and who is online.
Also,if we were able to play dices, card and/or other games.... (drinking? ) in the taverns that would be good.

Maybe contract. ..

Not a bad idea. Personally, I think they just need to make the Friends Online Search to be able to search all pirates in the game, and allow you to add and remove players from your list through their user profile page.

Absolutely -1. To me, this is just an unnecessary addition that will just make it harder for people to find a conversation they are looking for. I don't see anything wrong with the tavern as it is now. Sure, your conversation may not show up on the game page 24/7 but seriously, just click the go to tavern button and search it's name. Making a tavern page port specific will just make discussion a LOT more complicated and I think would even make people less talkative because it would be so hard to manage

-1 for the social aspect, anyone that has a 21-port presence can read the proposed tavern chat, so it is not very useful. But tavern games could be fun, maybe some gambling with gc?

Vote to discussion. Somewhat implemented, but I would advocate having the port tavern topics tied only to each individual port as a sticky topic. Also to make the governor of that port the forum mod!
