Not scared, but tread cautiously... why wake the dragon for no reason? ;-)
I've been watching too much Game of Thrones (please no spoilers, I am still in season 1)

You're probably not far off. I am reading the book along with watching the series. It's fun doing it that way, because I get more details that the tv show would never have time to divulge.

Ahhh i see , not a big fan of reading myself... I like watching TV etc more... Much easier , less engaging for the old brain...

Season's One and Two stick pretty close to the books plot-wise : then as it goes along each season after that, it does seem to stray further and miss out or overly compress some plot-lines and/or characters altogether, which is a shame as some of them are ones which offer intriguing possibilities for the overall plot later on. (Not a spoiler, as the TV show omits them entirely, but a whole range of clues and hints about John Snows parenthood are lost, a red herring as it still isnt resolved by the end of Book 5, but they added to my enjoyment of the complexities of the world Martin creates) But given how TV/movies hack the living soul out of most stuff they 'adapt', GoT gets off only slightly damaged.

Anyway : back on topic :

deadline for applications is reset Friday, 26th June : in about 6-7hrs.

The Council will discuss the applicants qualities, count up the bribes, get drunk then play 'Pin the Tail on the Donkey', Mexican-stylee (not for the faint-hearted or easily shocked). At some point over the weekend, the Chosen One will be announced.

So, if you fancy the life-style, now is the time to get your bribe, sorry, application in!

Danik, you action gringo you. Look no further, I am your man and the wealth my abilities will bring will far surpass any monetary bribe I could give you. Take my sister anyway. The foreskin? I'm not entirely sure it is authentic. But I will give you an extra large codpiece I have, it doesn't fit me being the build I am, but you? Well you are very large in that department, that's quite evident unless you stuff bananas down your oilskins. This is no ordinary codpiece, it is hand crocheted from the finest Spanish gold thread, and has a clasp that is made from solid gold also. Fashioned suitably into a replica snake. Quite fitting I think considering its purpose.

Now, is the job mine or not?

I have waited long enough. I am interested in the job. I bring certain skills with me, I once worked as a loan collector and was so good at it the Mafia and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service both were recruiting me. I can make executive decisions, such as who to give ship building contracts to and who just to pay.

I can add two plus two and come up with any number you want it to be and make you believe the math makes sense.

I am loyal and trustworthy as long as I get my way. By the way Danik, I have pictures of you and that banana last year. I promise not to tell anyone what you were doing with it. You know you can trust me.

You can all trust me.

I wouldn't lie.
