Again, we have 2 big oceans on both sides, a large population, tons of guns, and the biggest military budget, and probably the biggest military in the world. Other then nukes, I can't see any nation managing to invade the mainland US. Canada and Mexico might be able to push in for a bit, but neither has militaries close to the size of ours. I also doubt either would want to invade us. It's an unfair fight for them, and without some damn good foreign support, won't end well for them. Defensive wars tend to favor the defender, and with the natural defense of 2 oceans, relatively weak neighbors, large diverse climates from mountains, to deserts, to swamps, huge population, tons of guns, any attempt to invade the US faces so many issues and problems I really do not see it ever happening. I'm more worried about what I believe Lincoln once said. If anything is going to bring down the US, it's going to be a threat from within.
Also, funniest crap I read today. Nobody wanting America's help. Yeah, sure, you might not want it, since you feel so offended by what Trump is doing, but last I checked, you're not the king of the world, nor are you the chosen representative for all foreign people outside the US.
It's also rich talking about self superiority, when so many foreigners seem to just love to mock the United States. Talking about how so many places have healthcare, or free college, or talking crap about school shootings in America. But when the US starts talking about stopping sending support to other nations and focusing on our own problems, oh no sound the alarms, they can't do that, we need the money of the biggest economy in the world, of the biggest military in the world, oh but we'll still talk crap regardless.
And yeah, the few nukes other nations have could mess up the world. Okay. Cool. Wipe out all human life just to spite your enemy. I'm sure that's a good idea. Rather then figure out a way to survive and bounce back.
Look at Poland, it's been conquered, and crushed so many times yet it always managed to claw it's way back. Better to live and survive to rise again, then just burn yourself and everyone to ash out of spite.
Not saying this will necessarily happen, but what good is the military budget if no one is willing to fight? If it's a war no one agrees with and people sense that it could be a world war, drafting people may not do anything. No way to FORCE people to fight other than to punish them with fines or imprisonment. And if enough people refuse to fight this strategy would be wholly ineffective. In both world wars we've been in people have been so angry with the opposition that they signed up en masse to fight, so little to no drafting was needed. Korea and especially Vietnam are different stories, most of the soldiers had to be drafted and a good chunk didn't agree with the cause but fought anyway because they liked the idea of kicking communist ass or because there just weren't enough people to refuse to fight for it to be effective. I have a strong feeling (completely on a hunch, of course) that whatever the cause for WWIII will be is going to be something that most Americans can't get behind or even despise. So many people are pacifists and hate war or hate our leaders and would refuse to fight for them. Plus now we know what kind of technology us and other countries hold, people would be even less motivated to help out. Anyone getting nuked at this point will result in the end of humanity and probably most life on earth. There's no way around it. If one country launches a nuke someone else will launch one too. And nukes are so much more incredibly powerful now than they were back in WWII. They won't just destroy cities, they'll destroy entire states or countries. A single nuke would have an impact on all life on earth, everywhere around the globe.
