No expert on guns, though I do recall hearing a man shot himself after shooting an armadillo. Bounced off the shell and hit him. I'm sure on this big old planet there's probably something that could survive even a gun like that. Of course, depending on where it get's hit that is. Hell, I could probably survive a gun like that if you just shot me in the foot with it. Course, would most likely lose said foot :D

My main drive is 100 yds long.
The magazine limit of 3 rounds is defeated in about 15 secs by removing the magazine limiting plug..
They work really well when in close quarters so I am told. I Never want to have to verify and I do not expect I will ever have to.

My rem pump 12 gauge is choked for skeet, and i removed the plug and added a 2 round extender for 7 lovely rounds before reload and keep it loaded not chambered with double-aught buck just incase someone come into my house they will hear me rack it :D Power Perceived right?

I also have an old Ithica featherweight pump 12 Ga. with full choke and a longer than "normal" barrel. About a 1955 model. It's nice gun to reach out and nail geese. Them frigg'in 10 Ga. shotguns just kick too hard for my old shoulder any more.
My dad had a lever action 10 Ga. but I cannot remember the make/model

I'd like a 20 Ga. Back in the day, the 3" mag carried the same amount of shot as a 12 Ga. but would again reach out farther than the 12 Ga.
The only thing I don't like about a 20 Ga is the price of ammo compared to 12 Ga ammo.

When I was a kid 12 yrs old, my Dad give me a .410 double barrel. Now that gun just pissed me off when I shot a duck the feathers flew off and so would the duck.

The slugs worked very well though ;)

Ever heard of Krav Maga? It is an Israeli martial art that was designed specifically for self defence, and does not worry about the safety or well being of the opponent. Right from the beginning you learn how to disarm someone with a gun or a knife, and that includes ARs. With multiple martial arts backgrounds, I am pretty well rounded. My main MA is BJJ, then Krav Maga, then Kuk Sool Won. All three are self-defense based. Let's be realistic though. The chances that you will actually ever end up in a fight is slim, and the chances that you would also have your AR handy? Very slim. best thing is to always be prepared and not to require any tools like guns or knives to get you out safely. I seriously recommend learning martial arts. They are fun and will prepare you for not only self defense but also other situations like slipping and falling on ice.

PS Mack there is no such thing as a Judo chop :P

Who hasn't heard of krav Maga? :) I see your point because I also learned dissarmament but that only works close up, and generally only against those who dont know how to properly handle a firearm. Those are just kata's to help you learn and think quickly. lol No i would not have my AR handy, thats just silly, but i would have my side arm, and there isnt a fighting style around that can beat a bullet.

didnt you read my post? I did take Martial arts, for may years and yes its good to know i can hold my own if needed, but just remember, no matter how fast you are there s always someone faster but not faster than powder :)

Yeah, does it teach you how to disarm someone with a gun or AR when they are NOT right in front of you? You know, like 20 feet away, pointing said gun at you? If not, then your probably going to be shot dead before you can do crap.

The best self defense mechanism is stay the F away from places that you may encounter such threats. The 2nd most effective self defence weapon is 2 sturdy legs and good jogging shoes and use liberally until rule 1 applies.
