Danik, thank you for busting climate experts Mack and Dez's asses.
Dear Mack, Dez, Argo, and anyone else who thinks they know better than the science,
You do not have to care about the climate. You do not have to care about the future of the world. For all I know, you might be dead by the time it affects Earth. No. I don't care how much you care about the trees, forests and birds. I don't care how much you care about the turtles, the fish, and the seahorses. I don't care if you do or don't care whether polar bears are forced out of existence due to Humanity's own doings.
But I ask you to please, please, please, just like if you were a child again attending a summer camp, leave the Earth better than you found it. It would mean a lot.
The generations ahead of me have screwed things up. Screwed 'em up badly. Some take time to fix it. Some don't. But, if you want to make sure you leave a legacy, make people remember how great you were, then clean up after yourself. It's a skill that has been taught to young people from the beginning of time. You make a mess, you clean it up. Now it's your turn. Don't make my generation be the last.
Sincerely,
L.M.
Dear Lost on Reality,
Maybe you should read Danik's statement again. While he is correct that many scientific theories cannot be proven without a doubt, such as Relativity, That is not the case for all science. It is scientific fact that the Earth is a oblate spheroid. It can be definitively proven. It is scientific fact that the Earth rotates and orbits the sun. Those are definitive facts proven by science.
Climate Change is not a fact. It is a theory. As Danik said, the models show change. Sure, but it's only a theory because there is no proof that the changes we are seeing aren't part of Earth's natural cycles. We weren't around to take actual measurements from between the last two ice ages. We can hypothesize and make educated guesses based on data, but those guesses are not fact. As such, Climate Theory is only a theory. Yes, the climate is changing, but is that change outside of Earth's natural cycles. We don't know, so you can't definitively say that Climate Change and the hypothesis presented are fact. Stop presenting it as such.
It is not settle science, so stop treating it like it is.
And in speaking about Danik's statement on Relativity, Einstein's Theory of General Relativity model still stands and has not been disproven. What has happened is that work stemmed from the base model to create additional Theories that relate to it. The base model to this date hasn't been proven wrong nor changed to match data. Climate Theory on the other hand has.
Furthermore, taking care of the environment and believing in the Theory of Climate Change are not mutually inclusive.
Sincerely,
Those that aren't disillusioned.
