The idea so far is not for completely immune and it is a ship only for those flying the Jolly Rodger. This is an issue affecting more players.

If I wanted to be more specific, I would tag the Hit and Run tactic. I am not here to make is obsolete though. This suggestion is to enrich it.

You say lonely level 10 cutters, I will push this to the limit.

I will have no ships - Buy 4,400 credits and just unload Fugitive from Justice onto Merchants, daily.

In just your previous post you said how merchants are so great. What you mention here is not new, Lefty I think is the first to bring this to our proper attention. Too bad that the discussions then were not complete.

We relied to Bounties to counter such though. Perhaps not enough.

Perhaps a suggestion, anybody with no ships can't cast any voodoo against Merchants!

*shakes head*

Leave it to Avery, the one person who can never work to better the game. Only try and ruin it.

I won't try, I will succeed.

I wont run when I start wars, unlike some of us.

Because combat is not, usually, profitable. With this change, stealing ships will be just another way to hurt a player and lose resources in the process. This is already possible in a lot of ways, but is seldom done (I guess Danik and LT are honorary exceptions, thank you both for the USA entertainment). If you want more conflicts, conflicts have to be profitable (I refer again to my suggestion "enhanced supply and demand"). Or necessary for some other reason (see for example "external political events").

This will cause LESS combat, not more, I believe. And I will have an even harder time convincing my team mates they should not just become large traders.

Things are not unbalanced. Things however are not good enough. Improving them bit by bit is the way to go.

Profit from plunder is a lot better than it used to be and the more you upgrade your Piracy tech, the more it will improve. It will take some time to pay out but it worth it long term.
