Jack barely manages to hold his breath in time to stop inhaling of the gas. He begins to swing his sword with more determination, trying his absolute hardest to hit veera while still being precise. He occasionlly attempts to stab Veera with the dagger but he never quite makes it.

The man in black sits in what appears to be meditation, all the while making unfamiliar hand movements.

The gas surrounds the man but he appears to be unaffected.

The skies turn dark as clouds swirl above the battlefield.

A fierce wind blows down upon them pushing the gas away.

A healing potion flies toward Eloth with great vigor landing without hands grasp.

Veera hops back behind the undead as she looks around a bit confused at first, before looking to the man in black. She points a sword at him and shouts

I see past that disguise now that I actually take a good look at you and what you're doing. What do you want John? Helping folks out of the goodness of your heart isn't something I would expect you to do. So why are you here interfering in my business? Revenge? Boredom? Money? A secret deep down desire to be a good person?

Eloth downs the potion and slowly get's up, taking deep breaths as he starts to quickly heal.

Jack moves back as he cuts down three of the undead as they charge. He shoots two more, dropping the dagger to get out the pistol. As he stoops to retrieve the dagger three of the undead rush him. Jack throws the dagger, killing one. As the one hit by the dagger falls, he knocks over his comrade, whom Jack stabs as he runs by. The last one jack kills by sheer luck. As it swung, Jack dodged and accidentally hit the undead in the head with the pointof his sword, killing it.

John stands and looks at Veera

I'm insulted that you would think that I would do something out of the goodness of my own heart.

I rather enjoy you having to work at something. You can't have everything be so simple and easy for you.

Plus, why would I waste my own resources tracking you down, when I can use others to do it for me.

I know it has been a long time, but you shouldn't be surprised by my antics.

The last remaining undead falls dead to the ground, being killed by some musketfire from a random citizen. Jack moves forward to engage veera. He swings his sword at the side of her head.

Veera laughs as she responds before leaping back again

I was simply raised and taught to try to imagine any and all possibilities, no matter how slim they may be. Good to know you haven't gone soft. I would argue that even before you showed up, I had already spent quite a bit of work and effort. Regardless, I will be sure to pay you back for the extra trouble I have to go through.

She looks to all the fallen undead and tsks her tongue

Such poor fodder corpses make. Should have bought or borrowed golems from my sister or something. Let's see, what trick should I try now.

She thinks for a moment before quickly smashing a vial onto the ground, as a giant slime quickly forms and slithers forward bullets and melee weapons simply going through it doing nothing. She begins smashing more vials unleashing more of them until she runs out.

There. That should slow you idiots down.

Oh bugger

Jack puts his sword away, runs, finds some wood, hastily makes a torch. He comes back and begins to burn up the slimes. He cringes at the awful stench.

As the slimes are burned, Veera takes a look around before sighing

Well, I think I've done enough for now. Eloth, I'll go ahead and go to the family myself. Get their nagging over with sooner then later. See you there.

She quickly fades away, as Eloth burns the remaining slimes. Satisfied, he begins to leave.

Well. Could have gone worse I suppose. Good job everyone. I now need to go and check on some things.

I think that's a decent point to leave on. Next one will come up in a few days.
