Global Event Gossip:
DAY 2961:
Cutpurse and CDV become kings of Bermuda and Colombia respectively. It has been reported CDV got the better deal. He was welcomed and fawned over by a bevy of Colombian beauties while Cutpurse was last seen shaking his head hands and heading to the war room shouting at Zephor, 'Where the hell is Feniks?
DAY 2162:
Bermuda retook Kanoni while qpstormshadowqp took the throne quietly in Jamaica as Clockwork continued on his KOAN quest finally sitting his big ol ass on the sear in Bhutan for...about a minute then he was off ranking up in Bolivia.
Also making the news on this day was the Skirmish King Pirate SilverShadow racking up 20,000 Total Battles. Last seen at the Tavern in Akrotiri with his guildmates celebrating, word has it things got pretty messy once the singing began. PGPR have not confirmed runors SilverShadow was singing and dangling from the light fixture and it gave way crashing to the table and taking out a few of the locals. The local constabulary were called to the scene but any reports of any arrests may have been withdrawn due to allegations of bribery. No arrests reported at this stage.
DAY 2963:
The new dawn saw Bermuda and USA at it again. Edward Teach made King in the USA while xPro made his leave in Dominica and returned quickly to the US to help defend his beloved nation.
Like Cutpurse, XPro was into the us war room strategising sustained and exhaustive voodoo attacks against Bermuda who responded in a way that the King himself admitted, "hurt".
Back in Dominica WilliamOneEye re-familiarised himself with his throne. xPro's return to the USA saw them take Newland and St. Martins from Dominica became casualities of war as the USA reclaimed Bermuda. This freaked out Argonaut who, as usual had no idea what was going on and was in the mansion at Newland at the time who went racing down to board her ships, ready to return to her pirate ways. We hear Governor Banger was also a little taken aback at this sudden loss of ports and when Argonaut asked him "how do I get out of here?", he said he really didn't know either.
Momentarily, the faint strains of Hotel California could be heard over Dominica.
DAY 2965:
PGPR failed in their investigations to find CDV after he disappeared with said beauties. Its hard to keep track of him. PGPR never knows where he may turn up next. Tom Lowe was heard to make reference to CDV's antics as like whack-a-mole! We were unable to discover what had happened in Columbia that CVD left in such a hurry after all last seen he looked extremely pleased with himself. However, he turned up later that day in Venezuela yelling the same words he had spake in Colombia and Peru which I have been warned cannot be repeated here but along the lines of a foul-mouthed warning to not get in his way because he is already 'King of Everything'.
Day 2966:
Not to be outdone, Pirate Nelson pumped through the rankings in Channel Island in good time. In response to a letter he had received from the old SeaHag herself, Meliva explaining her idea. Pirate Nelson may, indeed be the solution to an extra bucket and have the right amount of influence to ensure that happened. She was, as always, correct and it is said she convinced him the extra bucket was necessary because all these folk were turning up and it was approaching “standing room only”. And besides, she says, it was getting awkward.
Tom Lowe promptly arrived at Channel Islands and immediately pronounced himself proud guard and protector, titling himself “The Keeper of the Buckets” and in particular the Channel Islands’ precious bucket, the only one of its kind known to ever exist.
Queen Mel believed Nelson to have the right amount of influence to ensure another bucket would be permitted in Channel Islands She was indeed, correct. The Pirate Nelson got straight to it revising laws of ship owned taxes, expanding port acres all the while keeping a steady rise to his influence. One citizen who now had to stand with her heels in the water at high tide was overheard sniping at Nelson. With a wink and a nudge she guffawed and declared loudly to the gathered crowd, “Haha -Clearly what Nelson lacks in land he tries to make up for in influence-”. The small crowd let out a single united cheer and settled quietly just as quickly.
Day 2971:
Sees fierce Bucket Protector, Tom Low in a tussle with CW to hold onto the now infamous Channel Islands’ bucket. CW turned up telling Nelson to get off the chair. After some rumblings it was decided to let Clockwork sit on the throne for a minute and then he could leave them in peace. It was simply and easily decided he was not worth the resources it would cost.
On his arrival, CW allegedly turned up telling Nelson to 'pinch it off' and vacate the bucket chair.
After some rumblings it was decided to let ClockWork sit on the chair for a minute and then he could leave them in peace. It was unanimously decided it was not worth the resources it would cost to bother with him..
Further reports suggest as he left, CW made a point of flaunting the bucket over his shoulder sneering in Toms direction.
Eye-witnesses said, "Toms catlike reflexes ensured the bucket was now staying in its rightful place." and Clockwork left Channel Islands without further a-doo-doo.
Tom Lowe himself spoke directly with MIAB and told us that ..he, Tom, had indeed, sat tall and proud upon the Bucket throne to the melodic strains of the citizens of Channel Island cheering together a single, "Huzzah!" as Tom left another record breaker in the bucket."
Day 2982:
Shadowood exhibited his wealth and might try starting up 13 new plantations at one time. Clocking up 3 earlier in the week, this flurry of 13 new businesses led to Shadowood’s 35th Achievement in the game. Congrats Shadowood.
The locals were quite shocked to hear that their most famous retriever of mows was now going all “serenity” spending his days as a quiet trader. As Governor of Akrotiri it wasn’t hard to track his whereabouts for comment. We found him at the mansion and he seemed a little distracted. When asked how he felt about this great achievement he mumbled that plantations are the “wave of the future” and our reporters were dismissed with a wave of his own. It is understood they left quietly and of their own volition.
Day 2983:
In the forum game “Pitt stop” the 1000th post was made. Many prizes were awarded that day and there was much gaiety and rollicking good times in the tavern..
Señor Bigote, among the winners, stealthily made the 1000th post. The words “I win'' forced the generous hand of William Pitt so Bigote found himself one slightly used but serviceable ship of the line richer. When questioned how he felt about his big jackpot win, Bigote just smiled, climbed aboard his new, somewhat shiny acquisition and quickly sailed away.
Day 2985:
PG has been informed the gentle citizens of Liechtenstein shook their heads in disbelief the day war was declared in retaliation for war being declared on the Isle of Man. Knowing the war against Liberia would be short-lived these peaceful folk continued to enjoy their daily activities as usual
The citizens of Liberia simply thumped their chests and hollered a sound that was more animal than human. At the same time, King Kwomfwo of Liberia was desperately busy posting flyers all across Avonmora in the hope of recruiting vast armies to stand for Liberia. Last accounts, there had been no consigned soldiers let alone a single citizen to call upon. Not even amongst all his many allies. Not one stepped forward. But it seemed to PG he had been collecting an extraordinary amount of flags. Lots of them. Unfortunately for him, they didn’t come with an extra bonus of ready and able troops.
Day 2986:
Meliva issued an announcement. The Pirates Glory newspaper needed a new name and a contest was held to the great delight of the citizens from all corners of Avonmora. Submissions would be in the running for gold coin and credit prizes and along with the vote to decide the winner, they will also have their name immortalised on the front page of the paper. This competition created quite the excitement and many entries were received.
During these rumblings Pirate Nelson “pulled a nelson” and bought a large bucket in Prote which he had to give back because the purchase was accidental. However the king of Spain was so pleased he gave Nelson a replica which Nelson proudly took back to St. Martins when he returned the following day.
Day 2993:
Meliva announced the winners of the PG news naming contest. In first place was Message in a Bottle submitted by Kyle Gunwale. Congrats Kyle! There was a 4-way tie for 2nd and third place between Portside Perusal (submitted by Soleil), Articles of Avonmora (submitted by Meliva), The PG Advisor (submitted by Noffin) and The Goroum Gazette (submitted by Shadowood). Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all who submitted
