Oculus Day

We are always looking for ways to improve the game. In fact, since the beginning player suggestions had played a major part in game design.

We read all suggestions.

Oculus Day

Postby William one eye » Sun Nov 01, 2020 7:48 pm

Well now that Nelson has opened the door for proposing holidays after one's own self I would like to propose Oculus Day.

What day is Oculus Day?
Well thats to be determined.
However I never know when im going to lose that darned glass eye so maybe it could be any random day once a year.

Oculus day.

William One Eye has lost his glass eye.

Unfortunately the missing eye has been affected by black magic after being found by a witch doctor. It then fell into the witch doctors spell mixing cauldron the eye was transformed into a hideous cycloptic sea serpent. The creature destroyed the witch doctors hut as it rapidly grew to a monsterous size. It slithered its way to the sea and has been reportedly scuttling the ships of innocent victims.

Find and slay the Cycloptic Sea Serpent and recover One Eye's Eye.

Oculus day event notification occurs.
Event Included synopsis and link to accept mission to hunt the monster.
Mission link is active for 24 hours.

If you accept the mission.
Npc Sea monster generates in 1 random port
Search the ports for the NPC Cycloptic Sea Serpant
Defeat the NPC Cycloptic Sea Serpant.
If you defeat the monster within 24 hours of accepting the mission you receive a gift.
I suggest 1 card booster pack.

I cant tell of this is a joke or not.

In case it isnt
++++++++1

So, it could be at any day? Couldnt it be between certain days instead? In some hollydays perhaps? (I dont think most players login daily...)

It would be interesting, but I dont know if the admin would be interested in giving a free card booster pack... to every-single-player (unless it was really hard because of something you could add)...

Its real suggestion, but basing it on myself was somewhat in jest.

You would have to send a fleet port to port to find the target until you locate it.

If I remember correctly the strenght of NPC targets generated is dependant on the number of ships you have.

So how hard it is to defeat will depend largely on each player.

I was thinking it should be on par with defeating morgans man of war during nation missions.

The link could be active longer. But i think it should have limited availability.

Prize was just a suggestion.
I agree it might be a bit large of a reward for the task.

What if your prize is a fraction of an amulet.
This can be traded for a random amount of gc with a minimum and maximum range , or 2 random cards.

Thus trade can be made any time so long as you have the fragment

Or the fragment can be saved.

If you have multiple events similar to this with different themes.
Each granting peices of amulets upon completion.

If you save up and get a full amulet you can trade it for a much better prize than the sum if its individual peice values.

Maybe you have several different amulets and never know what type you will get a fragment of so if it takes 5 peices to comllete an amulet, it may take more than 5 missions.

I would love to see some themed NPC missions that have mini storylines, and few tasks to complete for small rewards.
Not so many that its distrating from the regular game.
And certainly not available at will for alternate game play.
But something to add some variation to regular gameplay every so often.

I like the sounds of something like this Will. As a bit of a side-game it could add well. Gathering pieces for a whole and then a reward - maybe rather than cost the game money by prize, perhaps badges or medals could be awarded instead? The can sit on your profile page or in Capts cabin on the wall where you can admire them...lol..
In line with Nelsons idea too, I am all for some 'events".
Also a meanie-head
