1000 credits? That be a mighty fine offer, CJ.

I'll see if I can reproduce the problem that Lockreed is having.

What other things should we look for ?
In my case, GB was delivered into the warehouse and then from the warehouse, assigned to the plantation. I do not think it would be possible to assign GB to a specific plant unless they were in the warehouse initially.

I cannot say for certain that the game did not reset into the next day when I discovered the missing GB within a very short time after assigning it... I am talking minutes, not hours.

I can't be certain my issue was measured in hours - I just know it had only been a few hours before I checked again. It is possible the issue was almost immediate or at the first tick and I just didn't see it until I logged in next

I think there has been a similar topic before - or at least this is not the first time I deal with this issue. This is why I remember that confuse can happen.

Try the following steps to get what I mean:
-Open Plantations Overview.
Then, by using the Currently Improved column link (which will open infrastructure):
-Open a new tab at Plantation of Port A.
-Open a new tab at Plantation of Port B.

So, you should have 3 tabs open: Plantations Overview, Plantation Port A and Plantation Port B.

Assuming that you followed the steps correctly, the last plantation you opened is Port B. So you "character" is now at Port B. You can verify this by clicking Headquarters at first tab.

Now you verified that you are at Port B, go to the tab that still has Plantation A open. Put 50 gold bars to improve. Notice the result: You have selected port A but you actually improved Port B. Now, several chances will take place depending your actual status to other port (ie no gold bars) but you get the idea of what has probably happened.

This is what I had in mind when I said we need to improve interface there. The issues that can be created if you use multiple tabs (something I do all the time - but I also know the implications :P). Actually, the only implication is to keep in mind that you switched port. The game even produces a warning for this but we are all blind to it already.

Anyway, I have the way to generate new warning across tabs when you change a port. Still, it won't work flawlessly 100% and perhaps many won't like it.

when having multiple tabs open and trying to save warehouse settings in a port that we are not currently at, there is a prompt that tells me no settings were saved. can we have this prompt to prevent any action in a port our character is not currently at, actions like influence investments, plantation improvements and port market transactions? this would be lovely instead warnings when changing ports.

i know many people have spent tens of millions of gc on influence in a wrong port, because they visited their bank to get the money, and that visit made the port change.

The issue of multiple tabs being open was suggested to me back when discussing it after the event, I can see how one could be tricked. Unfortunately, I very rarely ever use multiple tabs except when slinging rapid fire voodoo so in my case, it was definitely not multiple tabs causing the issue.

Also, is it possible my GB was unloaded into my warehouse and then immediately assigned to the plant before it was registered into the warehouse ? It has to be some silly combination like that which triggers it,

Losing GB when trying to improve facilities happened to me as well a couple of days ago

I don't know exactly what happened but the 400GB I added to one plantation disappeared. It was no longer in the warehouse but I wasnt making improvements either.

There is an issue with a tab showing port A but you have switched ports in a different tab - usually you get an error when this happens

I suspect that the code fails here and just throws the GB away because it has no place to put in Port B

I can't replicate this behavior

I think this just happened to me as well. I changed from improving housing to improving utility. Checked that I had gold bars for at least a day. A few hours later, I returned and my laborers are doing nothing. Gold bars gone. This happened in two plantations simultaneously.

There appears to be an issue at an update I issued earlier, to catch any possible cases in regards to this matter. I will have to restore the gb stocks levels (only them) back to what it was at the latest backup. The latest backup is about 10 hours ago. If you added gold bars in the last 10 hours and you do not have them now or won't have them after restore, pm me at #1.

I will post again once restoration is done.

End of alarm.

Eventually, it turns out that no gold bars were lost as I initially feared. It was something simpler. Here is the whole string of events.

->Player reported possible way to reproduce the issue.
->I spent some hours investigating and I found a spot where I could add some code, to secure it.
->First update failed and created the issue we experienced.
->Second update was successful. Now the possibility to lose gold bars is removed.
->Upon completion, it seems that the problem that troubled us so far is not that plantations were losing gold bars. They were instead losing construction target.
->This is what you all lost during the first failed update. Your plantations had the gold bars stored but because they have lost focus, they could not continue producing.
->Using the database backup, I restored the construction focus for those that lost it (not all plantations were affected).

-Next step in order to fix this issue is to verify the claim that what is actually lost is not gold bars but the focus. No fix has been issued to this claim.
It is also easy to troubleshoot it yourselves. Next time you "lost gold bars", improve something on the same plantation by adding 1 gold bar. The reading should return with the full number of your gold bars and I will know what needs to be fixed.
