Extra MoW Trait - Nobility

We are always looking for ways to improve the game. In fact, since the beginning player suggestions had played a major part in game design.

We read all suggestions.

Not that I know you are not targeting that audience,

But what if instead of coming as a trait, this comes as simply another mechanic for mow functionality instead?

I don’t ever see pirates using this, despite this ship being inheritely a warship.

This isn’t a bad idea whatsoever. I’m in support of it.

But food for thought for a future suggestion for pirate stuff for the biggest war ship.

Just something to think about while your train of thought is on mow usage :)

Pirates didn’t and shouldn’t use MoW. However, they should have a FLAGSHIP!

We need to discuss ways to get players sailing them. They need to earn their price of credits on the market.

What can we do to make people sail MoW's?
.

Players don't sail them because they are a prime target to get stolen, and usually are.

Solve that issue, and you will see more sail.

I think most are missing the point. Man of War should be a target. We should never solve the issue of getting stolen, as this isn’t an issue. The issue is this ship doesn’t reward the player enough to risk the loss of it.

This is why it should carry a buff of some sort. Now typically players only have one MoW. They one they earn through missions. Most elect not to spend 500+ credits on the market to have extra just sit in the marina. Very few have multiple on hand. This is why I’m not asking for a game breaking advantage, but something that entices more use.

I landed on the suggestion of an escort ship for gold bars. I think this is a fair start but of course am open for more Buff suggestions for MoW.

Okay here’s an idea:

Whenever mow sails the sea,

Immediately notifies Shadowood of its existence. :P :D

Jokes aside, perhaps having a mow in fleet increases the max GC plunder cap to 500k instead of 250k?

That would be something to see...

Or even better

I absolutely see the reasoning behind this suggestion. Any reasons to use MoWs more are good. Most players are traders, and what do traders want? Something to increase trade income, of course. And this is an idea to make MoWs increase trade income.

If such extra income makes it worth using for traders, I think that would be good. Sure, it may not fit our opinions about what a MoW should be. But traders want better trade vessels, not better war ships. War ships don't increase the income for traders, after all.

However, I don't think this would be enough to make traders want to risk using MoWs. And perhaps the more fundamental problem is that people have too little reason to fight each other, and thus the use for big ships is not that great. And the more you fight, the more risky it actually is to use big ships. And when it comes to plunder, quantity is important. Better to defeat a lot of worthless fleets than a few really good ones.

What Haron says Is true. The margins for just the single fleet’s income would be incredibly small compared to its worth

In all honesty, this trait is too weak for the outcome desired.

I do like the idea of more MOWs sailing...(altho one must wonder if this is just another Shadowood ploy to steal more -lol) .I prefer the idea they are used as battle ships tho..not traders...but then..cant tell someone what to do with their ships

No plunder cap, not a bad idea, although I still wouldn't risk sailing mine. Maybe MoWs generate 5% more plunder income on top of that? Or the traits themselves are boosted ie. protection from leviathan could be applied for two levels, not just one; Leviathan assault chance is 10% instead of 5%, or it just starts from the first round not the third; Loyal crew lasts for 3 extra days; extra cargo space is 40% instead of 25% extra; extra guns is 16 extra instead of just 8.

These are all just ideas to make people more likely to sail their MoWs. I want to get mine out on the water but the payoff is crappy currently. These are all great ideas, by the way.

You want people to play with their MoW's more, allow people to build them for outrageous amounts of sawg, resources, and i would throw in fame lost creating them, then it not only becomes a "replenishable" asset, but a status symbol to wear like a badge and give reason to have fame.

There could even be a ship building tech. But if each ship costs x wood, x cotton, x iron, x tools, x gold, and x coin maybe instead of turns it costs 5 million fame to put your stamp on the high sea and make the ship. It would still keep the market from getting flooded, but could add a bit more strategy without the fear of one and done as shadow adds to his collection :)

I like the idea of flag ships for pirates but maybe they can only be sailed while a pirate and maybe the MoWs can only be sailed when wearing a countries colors.

i wouldnt take that risk, even if it was +300% profit!!

But I do give a +1 to el draque's ideas. Until someone changes my mind, of course.
Although, I dont really suppose I would use it anyway, as I dont even attack anyone... but just giving my 2 cents. :)

Just for the record. I sold all but a few of the MoW's I had. (Last one is being purchased currently)

I only have 4 ships in my marina.
