Seeing as this is such a number crunching game, what little visual stuff you ought to play up. I'm thinking of the ship art in particular--I'm sure its historical, but like the Sloop for instance, that's the slowest, ugliest sloop I've ever laid eyes on. And I live in Maine...

a suggestion here. having a threshold of ship's lifetime after which a player can replace the art for their ship into a different ship picture would allow people to personalize their fleets without changing very much else.

Personalization sounds nice. Perhaps we can do this for the Flagship as a start.
