Voodoo Updates

During the SLACK chat with Captain Jack, the need to update some voodoo cards was a point of discussion. Specifically, 5 voodoo cards were named to be in the need of changes due to existing and upcoming game updates (Trade Routes Update).

The voodoo cards in question are as below:

    Terrorize

    Official List of Demands

    Iron Golem

    Trade Master

    Flood


In the instance of Terrorize, a separate topic has been made in regards to the discussion to making it a globally applied voodoo card in contrast to its current 1 cast per port. Please direct all comments, suggested updates, ideas, etc. related to Terrorize on that topic. A link to that topic can be found here.

For the other cards, we are looking for community ideas and discussion on how to improve these cards. Please post here for the remaining cards. If specific suggestions are created, this first post will be updated with links to the specific suggestions.

Do we post those comments here, or wait til a new thread for each card is made? I assume the former until the latter happens. To start, my first suggestion would be that iron golems be made to be more reliable, and you can pick which resource is given. Would make them SO much more useful.

Flood: have it include fishing routes

Trade master: combine with spy network or leave as is.

Iron golem: have it give between 15-25k resources instead.

OLOD: make it enchantment and take resources at the top of the hour instead.

Your assumption is correct. Until a specific suggestion is created, we are looking for discussion on these specific cards. Posting the ideas and discussion here is what we are asking.

Flood: 50% Chance of Destroying a Random Trade Route or 50% chance of sweeping away 2% of plantation workers at random plantation of person you cast on. Max of 10 Cast per 24 hours on person

Official List of Demands: In the past this card has just been used to "mess" with someone. You destroy some of their goods in a warehouse. BIG DEAL.

This card NEEDS teeth. What comes to mind when Making Demands. You are ordering, blackmailing, bartering, stealing from a person. This card needs to not Destroy but Transfer goods to person making the demand.

I would base this on a 1d5 die.

"Player or Players Nation will receive random 1%-5% of target players warehouse goods (sold at market value and converted into gold coin). I would put a max cast on this of 10 per 24 hour period as well."


I kind of like the Player's Nation idea as this makes this card Political in nature and could aid in warmongering. Thoughts?
