The lady gasps in horror eyeing Owen..."I have offered you far more than is in that bag. I would appreciate it if you just put it back.You have me. I am your insurance!"
She looks wide eyed at Veera for backing.

Veera thinks for a moment before turning to Owen

I think it would be better if you put it back. She's worth far more as insurance then a bag of silver. If she ends up trying to cheat us, then we can simply take her and ransom her to her father.

Veera then turns to Abby

Just remember that Abby. I've done far worse things then kidnapping, so I won't hesitate to follow through on that threat if you try to cheat us.

Owen thinks for a moment.

yeah i guess you're right.

he empties the bag and puts the silver back in place.

The lady looks relieved and gives Veera a nod. 'So, what happens now?

The guards are off except for Haldo and he is pretty drunk most of the time..I don't know why father keeps him on..except that he seems to just know everything...if you can understand what he is slurring...and he reeks of stale rum and sweat...
Apparently, Joro has been seen down the docks seeking pirates ...or at least that's what I think he said...I don't know why
But, I guess you may already have an idea and likely a plan. I want my crystal back .. the sooner the better.."

Veera thinks

Probably out hunting I'm guessing. She's been killing a lotta young men, luring them to her place with the promise of a good time only for them to never leave. I assume she's killing them anyway. She rarely buys food, so she can't be keeping them prisoners. At least not for long.

Regardless my plan initially was to have my bloody cousin take her bait, go to her house and kill her. He's a big man with a lotta brute strength, so I figured he'd be able to handle her no matter what kind of tricks she may has so long as he kept his guard up-plus I'd be nearby to back him up. But plan B is pretty similar. We just all go to her house in the red-light district, wait for night time, break in, and kill her. Guards don't frequent the brothels very often-not on duty anyway. Unless you or Owen have any suggestions? If so, tell me on the way over. Night is approaching and we don't wanna be seen.

Veera starts walking to the red-light district, Brian and Carl following her, both readying their weapons.

'Veera...can you wait while I see if I can find some rags to wear? I can't possibly be seen in that district in this..I must look like one of you and I must not be identified especially keeping such company...no offense "

Abby leaves the room and returns quickly in pirate garb..'I wore this last year to the fancy dress ball .. "

She poses and with a beaming smile asks Veera "How do I look?"

Veera shrugs

Like a pirate I suppose. Frankly I don't pay attention to clothes all that much. Better to focus on the eyes. Anyone can change their outfit, but very few can mask their eyes. Based on your eyes, you're young, somewhat naïve, and friendly. Overall a good person. So odds are we wouldn't get along well. I'm not exactly a good person.

Brian chuckles

Understatement of the century there. But yeah, Veera is a very vile woman. I only deal with her due to being in-laws. Otherwise we would never work together. Say Veera, shouldn't you give the lady her weapon back?

Veera thinks, before handing her a sword

I don't trust her with a gun. Not because I think she'd betray us, but because I'm concerned she'd hit us by accident.

Abby takes the sword and immediately takes a fencing stance. After a pretty impressive Riposte, Parry and Lunge,it is surprisingly obvious she can use a sword very well. Standing proudly and tossing her head back she smiles at the others..

Suddenly her expression changes and she snaps her head around to look at Veera..'Wait..did you say kill Joro...like..as in murder..as in..take her life..actually kill her dead..because you think she is killing young men..?

While that is a most dreadful thing and should be stopped, if it has merit or truth or proof, I just want my crystal back.And I am paying you to retrieve it for me. No kill. A bit of maiming is ok I guess, if you have to, but I will not accept being part of a kill.."

Veera looks to her

See, here's the thing-I have a job to do. I was ordered to kill Joro for her crimes. Looting your house was just something to earn a bit of quick cash on the side. If I go back and report that I spared her, or failed to do what I was told to do, then I'll be punished, and someone else will be sent to finish the job. Right now, I'm already on thin ice-If I fail this job-

Veera pauses as she looks off in the distance deep in thought, before shaking her head grimacing

Oof, I still have some aches from the last punishment I was given. Regardless, I'll tell you what- We'll go in and find evidence of her guilt before we fight her-if she's guilty of killing men or some other horrible crime, then we all agree to kill her to stop her-you can leave if you want while we do so. If she's innocent of any crime, we'll simply get your crystal, and you can leave while me and the boys finish the job. That's as far as I'm willing to go. I rather save my skin then hers after all.
