Bermuda Daily - Issue #90: There is Luxembourg, the Nation well known for its Navy

Like Bolivia (but Bolivia has a Navy indeed, for it had a ocean shore before a quarrel against Chile). In the beginning of the 70s, this young girl started her career of singer and actress, representing France and then Luxembourg in the Eurovision Show.

The song we present today is not very famous. It's a song in French. The poster in YouTube defines it as a "gem".
On air on Radio Image Bermuda a playback(?) version of Tu Te Reconnaitras by Anne Marie David.

She was a kind girl that after a 15 year lasting career decided to retire (she then got back on the scene in the mid 2000).
With this song she won the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest, in the name of Luxembourg.

But!
(but not very far there's Sweden)
But the very next year, the winner was a band from a different country from a different musical genre, with a name destined to find a place in music history.
The 1974 winner was this Waterloo by ABBA.
:o:

Enjoy!

I watched a documentary about Abba a while ago, and many artists from that era was interviewed about their opinions of Abba. Amongst them was Alice Cooper, who really was at his peak at that time. Alice was touring Australia and was staying at a hotel, in Melbourne i think it was. He woke up one morning and could hear thousands of people outside, chanting: Alice, Alice, Alice. So he went out to the balcony to greet his fans, but as he was waving to the people there he noticed that none seemed to pay him any attention, so he tried to listen carefully to what they were shouting, and it wasn't Alice, but they were shouting Abba. They were also touring Australia and were staying in the suite above Alice.
This was a perfect example of how big Abba really was.

The early Goran Bregovic :)
Boney M... for some time I though that Boney M was the guy's name, and that the girls were just chorists. I understood they were a band only a lot later :D

Yep, the early Goran Bregovic.
Btw, for a long time I thought Boney M was an American band. :D
