Meliva, the role of an admin is not a perk, but an additional task. To answer your statement, "I don't think it would be fair to force any mod to read posts just for the chance to find the occasional violation. That would be a huge chore, that would honestly probably scare anyone off from being a mod. I'd hate it if I had to read posts that I had no interest in just for the chance of finding the occasional violation." if you have not read it, you do not have to comment. But if you have responded, then it shows you are aware of it but might willfully choose not to act and sidetrack. For an administrator, he MUST be aware, else let him just play the game and not be one. Newcomers expect some level of help from administrators and if that is not forthcoming, it sucks. If you feel you can do social service, then take up the administrator role. It is not meant to be a role with perks. So you must act as per demands of the role, not as an accessory to your player profile. And I will repeat this statement again. Don't be a martyr. Do it if you feel responsible enough to take up the additional headache. Else enjoy the game as a player. There is no pressure. You can cuss, swear and get away with it. There are no two ways about it.

By banning my question, the privilege of an admin is being used as a perk. But the comments above and below where Dman says I used a curse word (I did use bullshit in the statement 'Don't bullshit me by trying to subtext vague reason here.' Does that classify as a swear word? If so, I used it on me going by the statement) Why should I have to report it first to get it banned? Dman's comment was unwarranted and thus should have been deleted automatically.(Due to its incorrect unwarranted nature and out of context sub texting)

So even if we do report along with proof, what can we expect as a deterrent action? If there is no deterrence, then why say that we did not report it? Look, it has been more than 24 hours that I raised one through my mail after being blocked. The frustration lead me to ask Jeanette to report my query. And I am yet to receive any resolution on it. Other than the standard, 'resolve your issues with the admin in question'. How should I?!? The admin is the problem here. Is the admin here for me? Or am I here to support him? As for evidence, you have it visible right here (what I am referring to). Now do you have a defined deterrent action? If not, why should I or anyone post at the online link? I can prove right now that multiple violations have been reported, but guarantee no action will be taken anyway as there is no determined deterrent action? So when an admin says, 'players who dont report and then complain only have themselves to blame', can you even trust one?

I nor any other admin/mod is required to answer to you. If you think that an admin or moderator is abusing their power, you are free to report them to CJ. Your entire posting is both inappropriate and baiting.

Pardon me, if you guys think I am attacking the admins. Yes, my intention is that because the mindsets are not synced to the role and you treat it as a privilege, when it is not. And if you notice, in the current forum post, every fire could have been doused with impartial blockage of comments. That is not being performed well. Why are we blaming Dmanz? Because the admin is not blocking or moderating the posts. Why are we blaming anyone? Because the administrator is partial

You are not an admin or moderator.

I'm giving you a lot of leeway here and you are continuing to bait administration into responding.

If you think a moderator or admin is not doing their job and/or is abusing their power, please report them to CJ.

Continued baiting will result in a ban. This is your last warning.

Pirate game is not a 'smacking game'. It has more layers. Interesting that you 'feel the need' to post right after Dman gets silenced for a bit. This isnt about Dmans right to talk, its about the rest of us who have rights not to listen to this . If we as a community think its out of line and needs to change, we need to be able to discuss it publicly. Without the personal and very tiresome inappropriate attacks. Dman is discouraging any kind of talk from many that might contribute with his behavior. I dont think it helps PG grow.

Yes, the community should and can discuss it publicly. There is no doubt that dman pushes the line of appropriateness and has even crossed it. However, instigating him into responding as such is not the way to do it. There are ways to address this without trash talking and demanding specific action from admins/mods.

Additionally, what does xPro coming forward to respond have anything to do with anything. This discussion isn't even a discussion, it's a demand to admonish dman set in play and instigated by Clock who has his own set of issues. Sorry in advance for the language, but it's a shit show and IMO can do far more damage to the game then it is trying to correct.

There are better means to address dman.

Harassment to other players is strictly forbidden. This can include, but is not limited to: abusive, defamatory, sexist, racist or profane language; disparaging any religion, race, gender, age group, or sexual orientation, threatening persons with actions in real life as well as posting or transmission of any material not suitable for underage persons. Please mind your attitude and language at all times. Be polite and have fun.

I have posted the netiquette section of game rules as it has been forgotten by most if not all.

The forums have been let go to seed over the past few years. As a moderator and a player, I am as much to blame as anyone. I grew weary of reading through the bickering and name calling, vulgarities and rudeness, writing PMs to violators to give them a chance to edit their comments, issuing warnings and taking flack, threats and retaliation in the game. People tried weaponizing the reporting feature on truly nitpicky, politically correct interpretations of forum rules just to get at someone. I grew weary, so I just quit moderating.

Right now, there's more "waaaa, if I can't say it why can he" and was, "waaa, he's mean to me." "Scream, holler, crying and the bashing of teeth and pulling of hair.

I beseech thee:

STOP! CEASE AND DESIST! QUIT IT!

We can make the forums better - read the bolded section of the rule posted above. Before you pop off or fire off a report, mind your attitude first. This is a game played by real people, you included. (That's why you fired up and got mad - you're a people!). You can be angry and still be civil. This is supposed to be a thinking game - a game of intelligence, but this topic seems to have missed the mark here.

If you truly care about the game, Please mind your attitude and language at all times. Be polite and have fun.

This isn't a computer game - behind that game name is a real person who you cannot see, and they cannot see you. You don't know anything about them or they you. Think before you retaliate (calculate and plan it, don't flash and flare). Think before you pop off a note in the forums - it's just a game. (A great game, but just a game!)

As for this uprise about Dman, it's a big issue. If forums had been watched better by moderators and players alike, it may never have reached this volcanic level.

From this point forward, Please mind your attitude and language at all times. Be polite and have fun.
