Anything related to in-game diplomacy (and beyond) can be brought here.
Guild news and announcements, war declarations, recruitment, military service offerings, etc.

Flaming is expected here. If you are easily offended, avoid this thread all together.

In my opinion Padrevaters didn't write anything that warranted being censored.

He asked specifically how I would respond. It draws an administrative response, which is admin baiting.

So we, the players. are not allowed to ask how admins would handle a violation?

Guess saying good morning counts as admin baiting.. that could draw a response too. The logic here is flawed. It forbids asking any admin any question of any kind.

Danik wrote:Lets be brutally honest here, Dez, Its how SOME violations are handled. There are plenty of violations of forum rules and netiquette which go unremarked. Pissing off the mods is not one but foul language, foul abuse, discriminatory comments... they get afree pass far too often. Often enough I have ceased to call them out cos guess what,... not a lot happens save.. yep.. more abuse, foul language and discriminatory comments.
If there are to be deletions and bans handed out for breaching forum rules, netiquette or TOS... lets not just see the red ink when its a mod getting hazed.

And here is part of the problem with your approach : the obvoe would be considered admin-baiting, questioning of admins actions, etc... so you should delete it and ban me. Kinda kills any discussion on any valid concerns about game and forum behaviour, no?

funny i didnt see you admonish parfait for cursing and hes a supposed noob
maybe you will tell him in his inbox how it upsets you and breaks the rules

by the way broadway actors play a role then resume their actual identity going forward
they dont insist you change your pronouns to address them for the role they played for the rest of their life
nor do they dress the role forever and if they do they have a mental issue ;)

the first half is wondering why you would encourage a noob to continue in a practice that is against the rules and one you profess to be toxic and distasteful to you personally danik

and the second is in relation to a past convo
and since i didnt respond then i have now :D

So, irrelevant then.

I named no names. I made a general comment of forum behaviour. Thus you do not know if my comments included the person you mention or not. You merely assume it didnt.

Your second paragraph is equally irrelevant : I assume you wish to justify your own opinions by means of a rather vague metaphor. Its not about the validity or otherwise of a controversial opinion. Its about forum rules regarding offensive comments. I could probably come up with a seemingly rational justification for the mass-murder of a racial, ethnic or religious group. Dont mean its acceptable to use discriminatory or foul language in the forum on the subject any more than freedom of speech allows me to shout 'Fire!' in a crowded theatre when there isnt one.

i named a name and asked a question therefore it became relevant

and the metaphor was one you provided not me
and for the same reason you cant yell fire in a crowded theater you cant justify murder
once you have called it murder it is automatically a crime
just like fire is a call to action
you can yell fire in a crowded theater .... if there is a fire
as for an opinion being expressed that is free speech
if it offends you ..... so what

I named no names : thus you have no idea which comments by which player I was referring too. Producing a random name referring to a random comment does not mean it was not included in my general terms. Next you will ask if I still beat my wife. Its an equally lame debating trick.

You fail on comprehension again. My comment on shouting 'Fire!' clearly refers to whether there is an actual fire or not.

Your opinions are your own. Nobody can stop you holding them. Nobody can stop you expressing them. But when we take those opinions into a public forum we accept limitations on that right to express an opinion. Thats what forum rules and TOS are : we all sign up to them when we register here. We agree to abide by them. We voluntarily limit our freedom of speech in doing so.

I dont go to Neo-Nazi meetings. If I did I could not complain at the rhetoric used because its plainly evident their opinions would be offensive to many people including myself. But in private, amongst themselves, they can chant the entire 'Mein Kampf' in Sanskrit for all I care. But that dont give them the right to burn crosses on my lawn while singing 'Horst Wessel' in six-part harmony. Thats were their right to hold an opinion remains but their right to express it ends.

so the answer is you wont write him and explain to him the error of his ways and thereby help improve the game you are saying is running rampant with all kinds of violations and rule breakings

actually they can chant anything they want the real world as long as it isnt a call to action and takes place on what is considered a public forum
i have seen someone take offense to hitler even being mentioned here
however i dont see mentioning him as a violation of tos
and i didnt see them interject when you named him
odd how that works here
if your buddy does or says something that you find questionable for others its ok
however if someone with an opposing circle of pals does it it is offensive

as for burning crosses on your lawn thats of course private property however with the right permit it can be done in public
next you will be saying hate speech is a micro aggression and deserves violence as retaliation lol
if in the uoh you say someone has sugar in their tank its fine in another forum you cant
and if it offends you so badly it ruins your day you have issues
