As a new player, I once leveled all the way up to Duke. Duke of Tokelau! I was so proud. It took me about 2 1/2 weeks and things were going well.
I set off the very next day to attack some NPC's (easy money for a noob back then). It never crossed my mind that NPC's had nation flags. LOL. All of a sudden I was a pirate again.

I haven't hit an NPC on purpose again outside of rank missions.

Lesson Learned that day.
