I think workers deaths regardless was tied to some features that have not been enabled yet. Right now its fairly easy to max and stabilize workers health and happiness in about a week from 0%. I have a plantation that is over 9 months old and never had one death. Like Stan said though expertise is not something easily changed or it might not even be working correctly, would need some input from CJ.

Expertise should work fine. Your workers work or not? Without work, do not expect them to gain any experience. At all cases, it should be a hard rating to increase and I would be interested to hear if anyone made it.

My workers have never stopped working in all these months, and before you ask the plantation is fully developed. Health and happiness 100%, Energy - Invigorated, expertise - novice still.

Also curious how many stages are there in expertise CJ?

There are 6 levels of expertise in terms of "broad categorization". In reality, it is a very in-depth index that is counted on experience points.

I have made a very in-depth investigation of the issue and I found the following:
-All plantation workers are currently around Novice expertise.
-Some are more experienced than others but the differences are not big.
-The key issue to this was the learning process was too steep for them: It would take TOO long of a time for any worker to become a Guru, which is the highest possible expertise.

As a result, I issued an update to the code. Learning process is now a lot faster. Around 25 times faster. So, if someone was to reach his full experise at 25 days, now he will reach it in 1. This means, you will start seeing results but do not hold your breath as the process is still needs time.

Hey Tea, i found that just as important as the stars of your buildings is the amount of land devoted to them. I started hitting 100% happiness and health with three stars working 9 hours a day, however there are fluctuations as time goes on

Imagine 1 million people trying to shower with 1 acre of 5 star showers lol, or cramming 1mil people into 1 acre of sleeping bags. Would start to look and smell like San Fran.

That's one thing i forgot to write down in my main post acre distributions.
Good to know that the turning point is at 3 stars. I've only been playing around with 5 stars and 0 stars.

Aye...if three stars are not showing an improvement in H/H, you may find there is just not enough 'acreage allotted to the bldg/servants who look after things. It is difficult if your pops or total acreage varies in any way as that affects the building efficiency as well.
Trying to keep things stable, I hope to determine if 100 acres of housing is sufficient with 3 star bldg, can I keep the workers healthy with 90 acres and a 5 star building and perhaps get better PPA numbers ?
