I believe adding names to some of our map will make it more fun to roleplay and could encourage to shipwreck in different places rather than literally at the ports. All of the traffic going to port to shipwreck seems to make it packed tight with ships at such ports.

Here is the map:

Sorry if everyone cant see the right side of the map (mobile users may have this issue.) The sea mass on the right toward chalkos and above psaral is Predator’s End.

A few criticisms and things to add, a delta isn't a type of water mass- so delta of the dead doesn't make much sense, I would also change Rumlords Crest to something like Great Bay, or maybe Bay of Battles. The smaller piece of water above it in Goroum could be called Goroum Cove. Skirmisher's Bay could be called Skirmishers Gulf, as a Gulf is larger then a bay.

Thoughts on naming if approved.
Map toggle names on off
Map zoom in if this is a possibility.

Have a name and location - post for approval.

Have a name only - post and others suggest spots.

Have a spot you want to name but dont have a name - post picture or detailed description of spot.

If you dont approve of a name you should suggest better.
If you dont like the spot suggested for a name and think the name belongs elsewhere post a picture or detailed description of location for alternate.

I see no negatives in this general idea.

Yes, my guess is that CJ thought it as recalling the Caribbean Sea, at the beginning.
But there are reason to move on from this :)

A few are:

 there are and were famous pirates places not only in the Caribbean (i.e. Malaysia and South East Asia, Somalia and Red Sea, etc.)

 there are players who are grown enough to begin exploring the outside of the little map we have. I mean: why the greatest merchant don't explore the south routes or the far east and west... It would just be natural. And why pirates shoulnd't try the same, strenghtening their hunt routes by going a little further?

 Besides Avonmora didn't even have a name at the beginning and now it Avonmora, and this thread (with no negative opinions) is suggesting to give names to landmasses and seas...

:!: Time to re-think Avonmora as a whole world itself, not merely a vague portion of the Earth, isn't it?
Stay tuned on Radio Image Bermuda!

I like the idea of naming the areas Personally, I would love to see a more interactive map.

SO pirates and privateers can't attack them?

That map actually feels like it looks better than the one ingame.

I sharpened the photo a little bit to intensify the geography when doing the editting
