The purpose of this discussion is to provide a development path or map for Flagships. The map will be a basic overview of the path that flagships will take through development. The topic is not for specifics of the feature. Suggestions and their specifics will be linked back to this topic.
FLAGSHIP MAP/PATH
1) Prerequisites
A. Ship Traits Reroll
- Method to reroll traits.
- Reroll can not be done on a ship that is designated as a flagship.
- Reroll can not give a chance to get a second trait. (Vice Versa)
-- If you have 1 trait, a reroll will always return 1 trait. If you have a 2 trait ship, the reroll be for both traits.
- Reroll must be random traits.
- Reroll must come at a significant cost.
- Reroll wipes existing traits and treats ship as if a new ship build
-- This means that a 1 trait ship can become a 2 trait ship. As well as a 2 trait ship may become a 1 trait ship.
2) Flagship Baseline (viewtopic.php?f=34&t=4943) APPROVED
- Flaghips must be available to all players
- Must have a cost associated to "build"
- Can only "build" if you possess no other flagship
3) Experience Leveling (Ship)
- System that promotes PvP Battles
- Must be multilevel
- Each level needs to increase in difficulty
- Each level enables the purchase or upgrade of a Perk/Bonus
4) Perks/Bonuses
- Need to include a Pirate Specific Bonus
- Bonuses should primarily relate to improving combat actions (PvP)
- Bonuses should also include non-combat improvements. (Fame, etc.)
- Perks/Bonuses need to be multilevel

EDIT 1: After discussion, the Reroll Traits has been updated to keep the existing roll functionality similar to a new ship. Significant Costs must occur to use this.
