Akrotiri: A Population Decimated

Postby PFH » Sun Feb 17, 2019 3:29 am

Hello to whom this may concern, and to all of Avonmora

Akrotiri is below 1 million citizens at this time. Surprising and drastic this may be, whomever is behind this, has made their point clear.

However let me give you some train of thought maam/sir

You have done great damage, and now your crossfire has aimed at all of those using the port of akrotiri and trading for those has been severed by your hand. We still recieve an income and now this has gone too far. You now hurt innocent bystanders and now have affected plantations because of this issue. Less goods to use for party trading and now you directly cut profits for others based on your personal issue.

You are now doing more damage to others than you are doing to me or anyone in barbados. In fact we really are okay with the damage. We havent used TI’s since it hit 1.5b population and we have used a single one. Really have wasted a lot for this kind of effect

Your point has been made clear. Stop hurting others for your revenge. Take it with me and your targets. You now affect everyone using the port, and thats selfish.

Good day.

You know, I think this is the third time Akrotiri has had it's pop decimated to this level. It's almost like a running joke at this point.

But in all seriousness, I do agree that the port should be left alone and be allowed to rebuilt. Why continue beating a dead horse after all.

I final death nail in Akrotiri can be blamed on plantations. People had double ended routes transporting immigrants for plantation workers.

Now plantation in Akro will die so no goods will be produced by plantation owners. yes it was started by someone with a grudge, but was finally killed by plantations.

It's not like it's permanently dead. As I mentioned before it's been decimated before. Twice if im not mistaken, and both times it bounced back after a while.

All that needs to be done is for whoever bombarded it with BDs to stop, a few folks willing to help transport some immigrants into it, and after some time when it gets up to a decent number TI's to help raise it back up.

Would take some time of course, and quite a bit of resources, but it can be revitalized. But again, the first and most important step is for people to stop beating down on it-as until then no amount of work can restore it with people smashing it back down.

. . . or the game could let us "discover" new Ports so that existing ones could not be held "hostage" willy-nilly.

It can still happen even if more ports are added. Though I wouldn't object to more ports, although I think there's a good balance as it stands.

Feniks makes a good point about the effect of transporting labor for plantations. Whilst a single plantation may not seem that ravenous a few large labor hungry ones will have an impact. As 'double-ended' transports are the most efficient model it will remain in force until one end or the other is 'broken' : therein lies a clue as to a possible cure which is quite radical and needs the port owner to risk a backlash but as the pops are near annihilated already : shut down the plantations : force the 'double-enders' to move to another pair.
Once the pops can support plantations allow them back but strictly limit permissions. First dign of pops dropping and put the squeeze back on. Maybe plantation owners will see some wisdom in supporting the port owners with TIs.. maybe they will bug out permanently. Either way... its progress.

The issue is not plantations in Akro, it's the plantations in other ports that draw off the akro population. So shutting down the plantations in Akro will do nothing.

That is correct. more than likely you would need plantation owners in Psaral to shut down
