I am going to +1 this as I think there is content here that needs to be merged with the Fishing Tweak thread. I think fishing needs more of an overhaul than a tweak. I think the idea of a fishery has merit.

We don't need additional fishing ships outside of what has already been suggested by CJ.

If we are going to add a Fishery, it should be a plantation building add-on. This suggestion isn't what we need. I have no issuing pulling points from an idea to build a more comprehensive fishing update, but overall this suggestion just isn't it.

Thats another point i wish to see.

I dont believe in additional ships but i could see fluyts getting some unique abilities with fishing if at all possible as the dutch ships dont see much on the ocean.

I do believe fishing needs an overhaul but not more ships. I may have misscommunicated this.

-1 on more ships +1 on more mechanics for fishing.

Overall disapprove on this except for the fishery. If a separate suggestion for the fishery can be made with some more “fluff” to make it a better suggestion, then we may see a future approval :)

I don't see a need for more mechanics in fishing - we already have plantations creating food.

Fishing ships, perhaps. Fishing with trade ships and warships seems awkward and makeshift. Fishing is a 'safe' way to put ships to work; not on gossip pages. A means to put scout ships to work while in port, or warships to work while they await bring utilized. Crews wouldn't stand for that, would they?

Fishing vessels should have perks and drawbacks., such as easier means to cancel and recall fleets. They should be cheap with fewer crew, but no Cannon or combat worthiness. In fact, if they be cheap, they should only have one or two levels, and no traits at all. Easily captured or sunk.

They should be slower, yet hold ample food - but nothing else. Low investment and moderate return on the investment.

If whaling is brought forward, there's an entire new market to develop - I don't know if we want or need to go there.

That said, I am open to anything that will work!

Depending on the mechanics and costs of a fishery i might dabble in it but if it is like plantations i dont want any part of it.
