Well most players are passive merchants nowadays is my main reasoning

True while that is, the passive merchants make the most money meaning they have potential to dish out lots of damage.

Am not apposed to the idea of having the king appoint the moderators. I like it

Because literally anyone can become a duke meaning someone who is irresponsible with his power can harass people using the abilities even without the king noticing

Same with kings though. Just raise your influence high enough and you take the throne. Sure theres the waiting period now for rightful kings, but if someone was dedicated enough they could do it.

I would suggest that there be some sort of special report to file if someone ends up abusing this power, and get it revoked, and it being given to next highest influence. But all in all I like the idea.

There is already an option in game to report abuses. I don't see the need to have a special button for it.

I think a limited amount of moderator pwr would be helpful, not to enact censorship or freedom of speech but if one had the ability to transfer offensive or derogatory comments to a separate thread where warnings of such was contained in the thread title.
There would also be the benefit to move drivel or non-relevant comments to the topic at hand to another thread keeping orderly flow in important national issues.

I know I have made comments meant for one topic in the wrong thread and wish it could be picked up and moved. Well, it can, but not neatly or without leaving your signature to a blank post in the initial thread.

Could make the Report Post in the Nation Forums act as a trigger and include a reported for option.

When one clicks Report Post, it opens a message box with a drop down. The dropdown could differential internal moderation, like for moving the post or deleting the post, compared to reporting a rules violation.

Keeps a log and allows the nation forums to be cleaned up.
