Any game related discussion can take place here. Examples: Discuss about how bad the merchant rates have been lately, how rich you have became by following this specific strategy which now needs to stop etc etc

For suggesting new ship traits.
To me ship traits, it unlocks a lot of new possibilities for strategic placement of ships, and careful target picks.
For this, I will put it into 2 categories traits, Active and Passive

Active
Conditions must be met during your battle before it goes off.

Example :
Last Stand
If this ship with this traits wins the battle with the ship it last encounters within this fleet to fleet battle with <20% hit points left instantly deals 300 bonus damage to the next ship before the battle even starts. (Causes people to be more likely to put this ship in fights as first few ships.)

Passive (Most current traits that is currently unlocked)

Example :
No cannon space
Can't use any cannons. +5 cargo space for every cannon this ship can't use. (Causes people to not use this ship for battle.)

These are just suggestions, I also see the opportunity for having ships with bad luck and end up with negative traits.

Example :
Weak
Every sink chance from battle defeat will cause 2 level lost instead. (Causes people to not use this ship as a tail.)

Those are just ideas, and might not be taken as traits in game for real.

All that will happen with negative-traited ships is that they will be scrapped about 2 secs after they get built : I'm already scrapping new builds that fail to have a suitable positive trait... cant see why anyone would keep a total dog.
The exception might be an exidting ship which gets allocated a negative trait but as they are all already allocated... none will so gifted. Which leaves the only other potential recipient... a MoW gifted to a new Marquess...mmm... that would go down well!

Its a new feature : all ships now have an additional trait which is a form of random bonus. See the forum posts on the subject for full info on each trait and what it adds to a ship. An example is Extra Cargo.. which adds 20 crates extra capacity.

This seems to be more in line with being a discussion.

Suggestions are more than just an idea. Suggestions should be an idea with some developmental work, this is especially prevalent with actual feature sets. The bigger or more involved a feature is, the more details it should have.

Ideally, suggests should be written in a manner that allows for those coding the suggestion to look at it and just code the feature. Very little should have to be figured out. They should be ready to go, with room for minor updates and tweaks.

After playing with the newest ship features I must say I like the added dimension to ship abilities. Having extra cannons or hold space or levi protection is all great and will provide more complex battles. Unfortunately, I think it falls short on what the game is capable of in its present form.
Let me explain why I say that :
Pete the Pirate has a fleet out sailing that has a killer lead ship. Certainly his best as no matter what I try, I cannot seem to defeat it. I have 60 attributes assigned and a extra hull protection.
He must have a double bonus on his ship along with 60 atts assigned.

There is no way I can defeat it regardless what I do and that is where I have a problem. No amount of remodeling can improve my ships characteristics. My ship is what it is.

Yea, there is a host of voodoo options available that I could use but other than that, I am stymied.
As I earlier mentioned, I like the additions but do they go far enough in ship vs. ship combat ?
What else could be done to enhance this portion of combat ?

Another rare Remodel that only effects assigned traits?
Results would also be random, making it's use a lottery, but with high potential payout, can see that being a very hot card
Some people are like Slinkies, totally useless but great fun to watch when you push them down the stairs
