Ship Traits

Any game related discussion can take place here. Examples: Discuss about how bad the merchant rates have been lately, how rich you have became by following this specific strategy which now needs to stop etc etc

I like the direction, Mack.

As you say, first we need to define how such are obtained. We do not need to limit ourselves here. There can be different ways to obtain each and each will be relevant to the attribute.

A low chance, as you propose, is also a good idea as it will ensure such will be truly random and perhaps scarce. Getting a negative trait should not be always the case after all.

Is there a chance for said 'Ship' to lose a Ship Trait?

An example being, when the ship is stolen three things could happen.

1) The Trait is lost, and cant be replaced.
2) The trait it lost, and when the new owner takes control another 'trait' takes it place (Could get the same trait again - The % of getting a trait is the same for when you build a ship)
3) The trait stays the same. (Which is a bit boring as when you plunder the ship, you know what your getting)

Just giving options - I do not mind, but I think 2 and 3 are the most viable options. As 1 would make the ship, lose a lot of ship worth.

Also, is there any scheduled release date?

I think you are assuming that others would be able to see your ship traits, which I don't think should be the case. Basic and Extra traits should only be visible to the owner.

If traits can be dropped during plunder, it should be a blind question and only apply to the extra traits. So if you plunder a ship, it will ask if you want to keep any extra traits. If you say Yes, it stays. If No, any extra trait could be dropped.

I would like any ship plunders... or salvages... to keep their original traits as built. Its part of the ship itself and should remain so.
Personally, can you imagine my joy on plundering a ship to discover it hot an extra trait... yummy...

Yes and imagine 6 months later down the line you get bored of it.

I'm bored of plundering and skirmishing as of right now.

If you can't see what traits it has how would you know what you are getting? Besides the Call Leviathan Immunity which would be obvious if you cast Call Leviathan on it and it failed.

Then help come up with some ideas that can implemented to make it more enjoyable in the long run.

Option 1, 2 or 3.

2 would do such, to where you didnt know what trait youd get.
