I would have liked to see, if BlackSparrow had to line a dream team who would he have chosen. But if not him, then William is the one who seemed to be the best observer of players. And he was. Got those with cards; then the talent and speed to use fighting ships well, and then the technique(B.Sparrow and pulpop) He even got those who work the forums, that's covering all bases.
Then team caladan. No philosophy, but he played the draft well, as players who line up to get picked into teams. Pick the biggest and most known first, before anyone gets them. Then make do with what you have and hope for the best. His early picks were impressive, once you have davinci and caladan, you nearly have won. But as it is said in the books, "but one sinner kills much good"
Not much philosophy here, except maybe the bit done by Amiral Nelson, see above.u
Team Yosarian. Team Tudor. Explained his philosophy perfectly, it's the traders stolid way. Though some of the players picked are not at all suitable for that philosophy.
Team cutpurse. He explained the way of thinking himself. Can't really comment, beyond tomlowe's magnificent contribution. That bit about 5 I's in individual brilliance, has sure got me thinking and thinking, of the manifold meanings of the words.
Team psychodad. If you hate and fear them, get them onto your side. Many guilds and alliances are based on these unspeakable bases.
So, if you got wrecked on a desert island, who would you have with you? The team that not only would help you survived, but even sally forth to wreak terror on the surrounding lands. I think, definitely not ss joker, that would end up like Lord of the Flies.
So William did a great all round job, covering all bases. But of course many people just vote for friends, without regarding the spirit of the fantasy, so that's that. As writ in Proverbs, "i saw under the sun, the race is not to the swift, nor riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to the wise but to all happens chance"
It was fun atleast.
Bump, and hoping team captain gets a few last second pics.
