Acres Rental

Postby William one eye » Mon Sep 03, 2018 1:26 pm

Not when you have 7000 workers and your acres suddenly drop to zero though

Currently i did let most of my acres expire in my main ports. As i realize it will take some time to build them back up i am using fertile lands. However these acreage losses were from neglect, not something that was outside my control.

This was a screen shot for first port i had this occur in.
In this case it was one of my smaller plantations.
It later happened on one of my large plantations.

I have a plantation problem - I had 500 acres expire, however
it zeroed out all my acres. I should have 1000 acres available
but I have O

Operating Permission expires at Day 2,218.

From what I see at the database, at Goroum you have a bid for 30 acres. Can you check again?

It would appear so.
After i lost my acres i was able to win a bid for 30 acres.
Was supposed to be 500. But i bid 30 for 500 instead of 500 for 30.

After i won the 30 i was unable to win any additional acres in that port.

That 30 has since expired, and my quartermaster made an automatic bid. I disabled most of my qaurtermaster bids, but this one is still active.

And additional thing i had noticed was variations in rental durations. Some seemed to have a few days shorter life spans from the moment the bids were won.

For example bids won in 2 different ports within hours of each other one might say 29 days and the othe 27 days.

At the time i was so busy trying to manage 12 facillities i did not try to get screen shots.

in new land - I had the opposite happen.
200 acres expired and its still showing my as having 1200 total acres

gc 11 200 Expired
gc 11 300 10h 41m
gc 80 200 22h 1m
gc 50 300 1d 19h 21m
gc 10 200 1d 22h 11m

Acres Distribution
Your Plantation: 1,200
Other Plantations: 18,800
New Land total: 20,000
Remaining: 0

I beleive this resovled with the 300 acres that expired subsequebtly.

While seems beneficial to the player renting the acres, it may possibly interfere with renuwal bids.

It's a bid that you can cancel.
The expired ones are still on your plantation but they will be removed shortly. Till they are removed, you can use them.

Rental duration used to be 30 days. Now it is 21 days. The difference you see is because when you make a bid, it does not mean it will process directly. You cannot know when it will register.

So, since we both see the same, there is no case of a bug here.

From my own experience, it is hard to manage multiple facilities. Especially when these are big as you need to also take care of resources that the plantation needs, especially food. The most profitable ones can be the ones that combo with other routes (or Goldsmith).

Perhaphs the bids i am speaking of were bids made before and after the duration changed from 30 to 21 days.

That's the only possible explanation; there was a coincidental match of the dates at some point which could have easily costed you up to 7000 acres in the space of 2 days (500 + 500 + 2500 + 2500)

Could the duration change have affcted expirations.
So acres with 21 day rentals rented later, pushing closed 30 day rentals that preceded them that still had days or hours left?

This definitely explains a lot of the suddened massive acreage drops i experienced. It would then seem a consequence of the change, and not a bug.

Due to the scale and time frame of my acres rentals it was perhaps more obivious to me than others operating on a smaller scale. Or perhaphs i was the only person who rented on both sides of the duration change in a single port.

It does not explain goroum. Where the acres still showed rental time, but alloted zero. However in my previous post i offered a possible explanation of a push close. Not certain if thats possible or not.
