RP- A Problem in Prote

Postby Meliva » Tue Aug 14, 2018 1:25 am

kay time for a new RP. Now this one on a scale of 1-5 on a realism scale is a 3. Which means a little bit of magic and some exaggerations are allowed.

Rules are as follows.

1. Try to keep things in character. Don't post something unrelated to the RP here. If you don't like this RP, don't complain about it here. Post a new thread or start your own RP thread if you don't like this one. I would actually be quite happy if someone posts a RP of their own so please feel free to do so.
2. You can control your characters actions-You can not control others. NPC's are fair game and anyone can control them, so long as its believable and in character. A guard for example shouldn't just up and decide to shoot an orphan for no reason-that is out of character. Anyone without a name will be considered a NPC, if you name a character but want it to be a NPC then just mention that said character is NPC in quotation marks after a post.
3. You are allowed to have multiple characters- but be reasonable. Don't flood the story with a bunch of your characters. 2 or 3 in one story is fine, anything past that is sort of pushing it unless you are really good at managing them.
4. Use Italics for actions, and try to separate things nice and neat. Also use paragraphs when needed. Quotations if for speaking out of the roleplay.
5. No editing of a post once you post it. The exception is to fix spelling mistakes or minor errors. It can be real annoying when someone posts one thing and another responds to it only to find what they responded too is now completely different.
6-Do not act on knowledge you know but your character doesn't- If for example Character A is being attacked in the tavern, and your character is in the church, you can't have your character suddenly rush to the tavern to help unless you can give a reason WHY he knows what is happening or he is rushing to the tavern.
7-if you have an objection to something, message the person directly first to resolve it.
8. The most important rule- Have fun.

Some serious problems are starting to occur in Prote. Their relations with a foreign trade partner have suffered due to a combination of piracy and recent decisions on their part which has ended up terminating their trade agreements. So their former partner has taken it upon themselves to take care of these problems by sending a large force to clear the areas of pirates, and to bring Prote under their control. Naturally this is less then ideal for the people of Prote, and while the neighboring ports would usually come to their aid, their own problems prevent this for the time being. So, the people of Prote, are quickly mustering what weapons and defenses they can, for the coming attack. many are hoping that the invaders will focus on the pirates first, giving them more time to prepare and perhaps weakening their enemies. For now, many people rush around, building barricades and handing out weapons in the port, unsure of when the attack will come. In a small tavern in the port, A young woman and a large man sit talking to each other. Their names Zephyra and Eloth, the 2 deciding to help out when the attack comes more so out of boredom then wanting to actually help, and are casually having a few drinks.

The men and their ship are completely ignored when the locals see that they are not a part of the incoming attack, as the locals continue preparations. Many of them mumbling curses under their breath about various things. Only a single guard say's anything to the new arrivals

If your not here to cause trouble or get in our way, then your welcome here, if you plan to do either, we will lock you up or kill you.

Zephyra and Eloth spot the 2 men and call them over to join them for drinks thinking they recognize the 2 as Jack and James.

Jack and James sit down. Jack says:

So, what news do we have?

Zephyra shrugs

Nothing good really. Big fleet is coming to pound Prote, and no one knows how big it is. Honestly I would rather not fight, but mother said she wanted a couple people stationed here to try to fend off the attack, and sadly I was one of the few available. Thankfully my brother Eloth joined up to help.

Some good news is that we do know that thanks to scout ships, if their fleet is about to hit, we will have a heads up. Also have a secure escape planned in case things go south and the port is lost.

Excellent. How many ships does this port have?

Zephyra sighs

Not many. If you don't count the scout ships, they got 15 war galleons, and 5 flags galleons. The majority of their fleet took most of the nobles and wealthy to one of the neighboring Spanish ports. They believe Prote is lost, and are deciding to abandon it to better guard their other ports. They plan to reclaim it when possible, but for now they just left it with a small force.
