RP- Battle against the Colisquian fleet

Jack looks at the fleet through his spyglass

Bloody great big pirate fleet that I've never heard off? Weird

The mysterious pirate analyzes the battlefield and thinks aloud.

Hmm, a colossal mess. Bet they be Jack's ships.

The pirate turns to his first mate.

What we want is not here. They will sacrifice themselves to allow a single ship to make a run for the other fleet. Allow it to escape. Sink the rest to the bottom, take no quarter.

The order is given and signaled to the other ships. The fleet shifts to give a potential route for a single ship.

The battle is very short lived. Masterfully placed mortar fire all but immobilizes most of the remaining slaver ships. Several Frigates and SOTLs move within gun range and begin to exchange volleys.

The admiral see's this and has his flagship sail away through the opening, leaving the rest of his fleet to stay back and fight. He relaxes his grip on his pistol and says to his first mate.

Strange, they could very easily have blocked us but they seem to have decided to open a small path for our ship to get by. Remind me to strangle Tiwo by the way. Had our fleet stayed together we could have very easily beaten this ambush.

Eden curses as the slaver's flagship gets away, and is equally mad that these other pirates are completely sinking these fine ships with no attempt to capture them. She shouts in anger over to Jack

Damn it, had I known they were just going to let one of them go, id have ordered some of our ships to pursue. Now that b*stard that got away will try to reform the fleet in full. Still we got about 15 new ships, and plenty of men to crew them. When these pricks are done finishing off the remaining slavers let's go have some words with them.

Great gunners on those ships. It's weird I've never heard of them though.

Carl just shrugs as he looks to Jack

Well not everyone seeks fame and goes around causing mayhem and havoc with no discretion. No offense Jack but you and most of your pirate friends REALLY seem to like the fact so many people know about you and your crimes and your so infamous. When honestly it would make more sense to be discrete when committing crimes. But something in my gut tells me we won't be liking these fellas. The fact they let one of the ships get away already tells us that they certainly are not here simply to stop some slavers or to help us.

Well, having a great big bloody pirate fleet is bound to get noticed at some point.

Carl shakes his head

Not if one is clever. You pose your ships as other nations, they can do the same. They can also frame other pirates for their deeds, or make sure to leave little to no survivors. Sure sooner or later they would be noticed, but a clever leader can delay that for quite a long time. Or hell, they could always just occasionally switch names and flags to constantly make people ignorant of who they are.

For example, imagine after every crime you commited Jack, that you changed your name, your flags, and altered your appearance. It would be hard to link all your crimes to one person since every crime is tied to a different name and flag. Plenty of ways to be discrete even with large forces.

I guess that could work for awhile...

Eden steps forward and just shrugs

Eh, it's basically the same thing honestly. Your still pirating around taking stuff, only your not putting a big target on your head. Granted having infamy and a well known name also has its perks and benefits, but being unknown and discrete have its own as well. But at the end of the day, pirating is pirating. Regardless, let's go talk to these blokes. I am rather pissed that they sunk several prizes and let that flagship get away. If it wasn't for the fact that now more then ever we need to be in tip top condition for the rest of the slaver fleet, i'd be tempted to take their ships for this inconvenience.

Eden has her fleet move closer to the mysterious pirates and signals she wishes to talk to them. She whispers to Jack and Carl

Be prepared for a battle. Keep cannons loaded and ready to fire at a moments notice. I do not think these blokes are our enemies, but I am also certain that they are not our friends.

Jack gives the order to prepare to fight
