The pirate points at the duelists

Notice how they stab for the legs and arms? They're not trying to kill each other, and the pistols were such light caliber that unless you hit them in the chest or face, you wouldn't be able to kill each other. It's rather cruel if you think about it.

The fighting gets fiercer, both combatants thrust at each other and swing, despite the fact that the swords have no cutting capacity. Jack mocks the Englishman by imitating his voice and calling for tea. He turns his back and begins impersonating him, the Englishman slashes at jack, yelling out a fierce battle cry, jack sidesteps, trips the man, and smacks his opponents head as he's falling.

Carl scoffs

Mate, you would be shocked at how quickly one can die if a major artery gets opened. Again, I don't see a bloody surgeon or doctor nearby, so if one of those slashes hits an artery, the man could bleed out before one can arrive. And what's the bloody point of using pistols at all if they are that weak and if it's just going to evolve into a swordfight? Either just duel with pistols, or duel with swords. Or fists if one wishes to box. Regardless I think the fight is nearly over. Also, isn't jack English as well? Seems rather counterintuitive to mock another Englishman like that if you yourself is English.

Fr. O'Conner emerges from behind the crowd. The pirate says:

He's mocking his rather nasally voice and funny walk. Though I swear, when jack picks up a smallsword he looks even more dandyish than most. Honestly though, neither of these men are to be trifled with. Both are exceptionally dangerous, good sailors, excellent swordsmen, the big difference is that James blood lacks Jack's moral scruple in some key areas.

James stabs at Jack's arm, it goes through his shirt and jack smacks him across the face. James stabs again, this time landing a blow on Jack's shoulder, a non-fatal but painful blow. Jack catches the blade so that it doesn't go far. Jack grits his teeth and thrusts for James' thigh, the sword goes straight through

Carl see's Conner and just shrugs

Well a surgeon finally showed up. Granted he should have been here from the start, and would have been if these blokes followed the code duello. Regardless, if these 2 just keep stabbing each other refusing to give up, sooner or later the wounds will be fatal and they may die of blood lost. I am a bloody lunatic and even I can see this is just stupid at this point.

Michael does his work. Both men get up, smile, and shake hands.

Carl blinks for a second and shouts

Did I miss something, I didn't hear either side yield. Is it a draw then? I did make a bet so I do need to know if I owe someone coin or they owe me or if we both were wrong.

The moderator calls out:

The winner is Lord Teach, as the other reportedly said "I yield"

Carl shouts

Really, I didn't hear it. But it's fine. I just earned 25 shiny coins.

Zephyra comes by and asks Jack somewhat worried

So how long will all these other pirate lords and their men be here at Valorim? You did warn them about not entering the caves right? Emily won't like it if she comes home to discover a bunch of corpses in her home. Well then again maybe she would-she can be rather strange and bloodthirsty at times so she might find it funny.

Zephyra thinks

So, your just going to let all these other pirates live here for who knows how long? That might attract a lot of unwanted attention, and there's no way in hell this island can support all these men by itself. You will either need to import food, or steal it-the latter will bring even more unwanted attention. Granted this is a lot of people, but given enough time, the surrounding ports and nations can muster a large enough force to beat it. This isn't a very good idea to have so many people in one spot, that's just inviting trouble.
