And to clarify... My Man of War is not historic in its age... It is Historic for its #13 number.

Please refer to Feniks post.
I don't fear death. I look forward to it with great anticipation. For then I will met God face to face and let him know that I stole his Man of War!!!

I once sold a 60p MoW for 1,000 cr. sure CJ can confirm that.

never the less 60p MoW almost never goes for more then 600cr

What do you mean confirm it? Can't you find it at the history page? It's only 3913 pages after all ^^ xD

Say, that gives me an idea of a mini request- the ability to filter the history page. Like if you want to see market history of frigates for example.

I have been deliberately ignoring this discussion as some cunning fellow, grabbed the opportunity to sell his own MoW at the same time as my precious auction. Of course, this action proved really smart as he immediately earned a bid, as he started the bidding from quite a low end. Of course, I would have hoped he would at least start at 650 but anyway...

So, I intended to stay clear of the discussion, till this other... auction ends. This way, there would be no... free exposure. But so be it. I can bear the losses. Perhaps this cunning fellow could prove... generous in the end and send me a small present, right? After all, I am sure he will now get at least 650 credits as this should be the bottom price for such a ship right now!

Back on my own auction though, the marvelous historic Man o' War that you all have been talking about.

You need to know that it is not brand new. This ship, has been won in Battle. Alas, I do not know by whom, as the mysterious seller was unsure. But he told me that it was a 60 pointer at the time of its capture. It also belonged to a very known player, alas no one knows who. But you will have to take my word, just like I took his.

The ID is also low for a Man o' War. I have been informed that MoWs started sailing around 65.000 or later. By all means, you will not easily find such vessels below 200k.

I guess all the above, make this ship historic. Perhaps, once sold, one could tell us by ID if he recognizes it as his own MoW. Should the buyer reveal the ID of course.

The low end? How do you consider a non historic ship selling for the most one has sold recently as starting at the low end? Lol.

As for at least 650, that's a little ridiculous considering, again, most one has sold for recently is 600.

I'll give it to you that his timing was absolutely astounding. I'm curious as to whether this is a big act and you are the one who is selling the ship for 600 also. Wouldn't be surprised; you are working very hard to convince people that your ship is worth 699 and that could make one think the 600 ship is a steal (which I wholeheartedly disagree with... Not morally; just the valuation itself)

None of these ships are mine. I have already sold mine.

I am just managing the auction for the Historic MoW. I am saying that 600 credits is a bargain and this will prove in the end. There is no way that this ship will sell for only 600 credits. 615 at the least, if the bidding remains at 600 at the last minute. Then someone, probably smart enough, will take advantage of the low price and he will try to snipe it at the last minutes.

So behold, anyone interested, bid at least 650 to secure this ship (now, whoever is selling this ship, you definitely own me).

But yet again, you can bid for 699 and get first hands on the historic one.

Hell you could steal one for a lot less than that.

even if the fleet had 4 cutter tails.

40 levis at 12.65 average right now is 506

By yours, I mean run by you. I'm not saying it is; I'm simply saying that doing so would be absolutely genius market maneuvering. At minimum one ship sells for the most an MOW has recently with the added opportunity to sell this arguably historic (because I see no value in how historic it is or isn't) one for 99 more than any MOW has sold for recently.

That being said, you attempting to drive up the price on the "other" auction to 650 could certainly be viewed as evidence supporting this idea, albeit only circumstancially.

Alas, I am only having fun here. To be frank, what a MOW sells for makes no difference to me at all; I just enjoy theorizing marketing strategies.

With all of that, I would think that if how "historical" the ship is did have some kind of value, it wouldn't be 99+ the maximum one has sold for recently. If any, I would start the bidding off at 650 maximum. That may entice one person to at least possibly buy (still very iffy, but better than 99) or even two people to begin a small bidding war driving the price up until one goes away.

Obviously you don't agree with me, and that is perfectly fine. As I said, I just enjoy theorizing about marketing strategy and tactics. This is purely hypothetical on my end.
