Jack looks to brian

Food for them or for us? because we have stores.

Jack's men set about fixing the ships, whilst the priest sets up an alter near the shore.

Brian shrugs

Mainly for us, but we can share with them if they want. No use using food from our stores if we can use food from the land.

Carl nods though wonders why the locals don't use the seaweed for food if their farms are so terrible. The locals for the most part are ignoring the group, trying to farm dead land essentially, while occasionally glancing out at sea. Brian and Carl begin preparing to cook the seaweed and start some fires.

Brian nods and sends someone to wake up Zephyra. She comes out and smells the seaweed cooking and looks hungry, though she notices the dead land, and how once that smell reaches the natives they go from looking angry and grumpy to absolutely terrified, as they drop everything and bolt north. She thinks for a moment before having an epiphany and bolts north after putting out the fires and shouting in fear.

We need to cross a stream or a river fast. Leave the ships, they will be fine.

Brian and Carl look confused but follow suit, along with most of their men, the Spaniards stay back waiting for orders from Jack and wanting to attend mass.

Jack orders that the alter be dissasembled and carried across the river, as well as any equipment needed.

From the water, something seems to be emerging. It looks to be a giant black horse, with fins, a single giant red eye and a large gaping mouth. Connected to it, is the torso and head of a giant man, with arms reaching down to both sides of the giant horse. Toxic looking gases spew out of the horses mouth, rotting the ground and decaying the plants. The man part of it has no skin, with blood red muscles, with yellow veins and black blood. The man's head emits a deafening wail, as it moves forward, reaching and grabbing any man close to it, the horse rotting away the ground with each breath. Zephyra shouts from afar

It's the Nuckelavee-Don't try and fight it, just get to fresh water. It can't stand fresh water. Nothing else hurts it!

The beast stops at the stream, but goes about smashing any buildings, and decaying the land with its breath, it looks to the group, then to the ships and it settles near the ships and waits. Zephyra says to the rest of the group

It will leave sooner or later. When it rains, it will be forced back into the ocean. Or, we can try to gather enough water from the stream and chase it back-but that will probably get a few of us killed.

The natives who also fled north have prepared some old cannons and muskets at the group and shout for them to leave their lands now and that more Dag are coming to help drive them away. Brian curses

Well, we either fight the Dag or try to chase away the monster. Neither sound appealing.

It begins to rain and the beast goes away. Jack looks to Brian.

We could get on the ships and use them like batteries, they are in range of the guns, they can launch a ball accurately for a mile.

Several Dag ships can be seen approaching the docked ships. The Dag farmers open fire with their cannons and muskets, as some charge forward, Brian just says to Jack as he raises his mace and shield

Whatever we do we need to act fast-If their ships reach ours before we get them into the water we may be dead. Some of us need to hold back these farmers while the rest man the boats.

Brian shouts for Carl to helm the Brig, while he fights the farmers. Carl and Zephyra both rush back south to the ships.
