Since God exists in this world, most natural things are made by him anyway

Jack looks about, stunned and angry.

Great, now we have to sit here and wait weeks to repair the sails.

My point is being this is a giant mythological beast-it has special traits-and unlike many animals, that are descendants of the first ones made by god, this is a beast that was made directly by him, and has existed for who knows how long.

Zephyra gets up, battered and tired, she helps some of the men who were blown away back on the ships before replying

Those winds were as strong as the rumors say. I thought i was pretty good at blowing things away, but that gale was insane.

The Ziz just continues to look down, gazing at Jack and the Priest

Since I believe you have learned your lesson, of my duty and importance, I shall help you with your problem. However you will tell your people back home of me, and my duty. They may laugh at you, but take comfort in knowing you spoke the truth to them, whether they believe it or not. If, however you do not fulfill this task I give you, then I will abandon my duty completely-and those winds shall blow upon the land forever.

The Ziz takes its beak, and It plucks a feather out of its wing and tosses it down before speaking again.

Use my feather to make new sails, it will be able to withstand any wind-no matter how strong.

Zephyra nods and quickly uses a bit of magic and tools to make new sails for the ships. Once done the Ziz nods to the group.

I apologize for the damage-but to hear you mock my importance and laugh at my duty enraged me. When you return remember-tell them about me and tell the truth. I will know if you do not. And the consequences will be severe. An island to the northwest can be found where you can rest and repair.

oh no, the Ziz is definitely not omnipotent at all-but it's the king of the sky and birds-and as massive as it is, it can see and hear very far. And even if something is out of view, it can always ask other birds for things like a king would ask a peasant about what's happening elsewhere.

Fun fact, but also part of its mythology story- at the end of days, its supposed to be fed as one of the final meals to the faithful, and it's flesh supposedly tastes of many flavors.

Zephyra looks to the new sails and smiles, as she tests them out with the strongest winds she can muster, speeding them along almost flying across the waters till she starts panting and stops. She turns to Jack

These sails are amazing. I need to try to get another feather from it sometime for myself. We should be at that island Ziz mentioned in an hour- im gonna take a nap.

Carl has Brian write down some notes and words and goes to Michael and speaks

You know, im willing to tell them the story of the Ziz if you would rather not get laughed at. Im a lunatic-im used to it. Honestly i just want to make sure we keep our end of the deal. I may be brave, but id rather not face a gale like that again.

Well its a part of a trio. Leviathan of the sea, Behemoth of the earth, and Ziz of the sky. The jewish mythology has all 3, but most Christian ones mention the first 2, but rarely the third. I don't know if it was something that they forgot to transfer over, or overlooked, but id say it exists in both faiths, just the Christians forget about Ziz. Honestly I think even in jewish mythology the Ziz was the odd one out of the trio-the least mentioned. So many forget to mention it.

Carl just laughs and nods as he pats him on the back

You know, let me give you some advice. Don't ever care if others laugh at you if you speak the truth. In the end, when all is revealed, you get the last laugh. And there is very few things as joyous as that.

Then again im a lunatic-so what do i know.

Carl laughs as he goes about his duties.

A few men and women seem to be on the island, unarmed and looking about. They look filthy, sick and miserable, as they seem to be trying to farm dead crops. They see the ships coming and continue working. Brian asks Burt the Plun native if these are Dag natives. Burt nods

Dag farmers i think. Typically only the sick, weak, old and feeble Dag natives are given farming jobs. They are rude, but harmless. They also hate the other dag, so its unlikely they would alert them unless we start slaughtering them.

Brian nods, but tells his men to keep at the ready just in case as he sails towards it.

They drop anchor and jack steps on shore. He looks to brian.

I'm inclined to help these people, any ideas?

Brian looks to him and shrugs

Food might be appreciated here. But honestly can't help someone if they don't want help. So let's see if they want help first.

Brian approaches them and is quickly told to pike off and is hit with some rotten fruit. He comes back wiping it off and shrugging

They appear to not want help. You can still try if you want, but I think im going to get to work repairing damage and preparing food. Lot's of seaweed near here, can burn it for some food.

Brian and Carl set to work gathering seaweed and repairing damage.
